RESOLUTION 5-61
CANVASSING RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, heretofore on the 28th day of
February, 1961, did adopt an ordinance providing for the submission to
the legal voters of said Village, at a special election duly called and
held in and for said Village on the 18th day of March, 1961, the following
question:
Shall bonds in the amount of $198,000 be issued by
the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois,
for the purpose of paying the cost of erecting
additions to the existing library building of the
Village, remodelling, repairing and improving said
existing library building, purchasing and furnishing
necessary equipment for said existing library building
and the additions to be erected thereto and improving
the existing library site, said bonds to mature
serially $10,000 on March 1 of each of the years 1963
to 1979, inclusive, and $14,000 on March 1 of each of
the years 1980 and 1981, and to bear interest at the
rate of not to exceed five per cent (5%) per annum?~
and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of said Village did
cause to be given by the Village Clerk not more than thirty (30) days nor
less than fifteen (15) days' notice of said special election by publishing
notice thereof once on the second day of March, 1961, in the Mount Prospect
Herald, the same being a newspaper published in and having a general circu-
lation within said Village, which said notice as so published did speci~
the places whereat such election was to be held, the time of closing and
opening of the polls, and the question to be voted upon, a newspaper
clipping of said notice with the affidavit of publication attached thereto,
being now on file and made a part of the official records of the President
and Board of Trustees of this Village and being in words and figures as
follows:

WHEREAS, the election returns have been presented to and have
been canvassed by the President and Board of Trustees of said Village;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE
PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT,
COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: That the total number of votes cast at said special
election, as shown by the poll list, was:
Election Precinct No.1: 936
Election Precinct No.2: 952

Section 2: That on the question of issuing bonds in the amount
of $198,000 Public Library Building Bonds for the Village of Mount Prospect,
Cook County, Illinois, the votes cast thereon were as follows:

Section 3: That it is hereby found, determined and declared of
record that the question of issuing bonds in the amount of $198,000 for
the purpose of paying the cost of erecting additions to the existing
libra~ building of the Village, remodelling, repairing and improving said
existing libra~ building, purchasing and furnishing necessary equipment
for said existing library building and the additions to be erected thereto,
and improviRg the existing library site of said Village did receive the
approval of a majority of the electors of the Village voting on said
question at said special election and that said question has been legally
approved and carried and that the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, have been authorized by
the electors of the Village of Mount Prospect to issue $198,000 Municipal
Library Building Bonds of said Village.
Section 4: That all orders or resolutions in conflict
herewith be and the same are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby
repealed, and that this resolution be in full force and effect
immediately and forthwith upon its adoption.
PASSED this 21st day of March, 1961.
