A RESOLUTION APPEALING TO ARLINGTON HEIGHTS VILLAGE
BOARD NOT TO ANNEX PROPERTY KNOWN AS KIRCHHOF.t' FARM.
LYING SOUTH OF AND ADJACENT TO CENTRAL ROAD, TO THEIR
VILLAGE
WHEREAS, the residents of a larp-e section o.t' the Villa.!2'e of'
Mount Prospect have appealed to the Mount Prospect Villa~e Board .t'or
assistance in protectin~ their children, their land values and the
present standards of' their living con~ittons. and
WHEREAS, the proposed land usage by the land owners of' the
property known as the Kirchhoff Farm would constitute a transient
condition at our western horder, such proposed land usage constitutinQ'
not only devaluation of property within our boundaries but also addini!
immeasurably to the most troubled school in our school district, and
WHEREAS, the proposed land usai!e Por the above described
property is below the protected standards of' the County, annexation
appeals by the owners being a direct attempt to circumvent such standards,
which are in the interests of' the majority of' people, and
WHEREAS, the history of' the northwestern communities has shown
an intent to live amicably among neie-hbors f'or common solutions with
respectful consideration f'or neighborly problems, and
WHEREAS, governing bodies throughout this area consist of'
highly civic-minded and dedicated people who conduct themselves in
accordance with good moral principles irrespective of' other consid-
erations, and
WHEREAS, annexation o.t' the previously described property by
Arlington Heights, in the opinion of' these Mount Prospect residents
could only materialize by a lack of' communication of' the problems, but
nevertheless would result in a direct act of' alienation amone- our
good neighbors. and
WHEREAS, the subject property is within the ler-al oounoaries
of' the Mount Prospect School and Park Districts and would be under
the jurisrlictior of' all quasi-lei!al booies, it should be within the
domain of possible annexation and zoning standards established by
Mount Prospect, and
W1IEREAS, when in due course the Hatlen Heights petition f'or
annexation is presented to this Board, if' af'ter due consideration the
Village of' Mount Prospect f'avorably views this petition, the Village
of Mount Prospect will act in its own best interests to effect its
rights in zoning control in this area, ann legally this can be eff'ected
by forcible annexation,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mount Prospect Village
Board in protection of Mount Prospect and surrounding residents,
make known its objection to the requested annexation Of the property
known as the Kirchhoff' Farm and to appeal to the Arlington Heights
Villag:e Board so that they are apprised of our attitude and will judge
this case in light or the moral principles involved with respect to
consideration of' neighborly problems.
