MINUTES
CLOSED SESSION
JANUARY 22, 2002
The Closed Session was convened at 8:13 p.m. in the Human Services conference room. The
purpose of the Closed Session was to discuss Litigation, Personnel, Property Disposal and Property
Acquisition. Present were: Mayor Gerald Farley and Trustees Timothy Corcoran, Paul Hoefert,
Richard Lohrstorfer, Michaele Skowron, Irvana Wilks and Michael Zadel. Staff present included:
Village Manager Michael Janonis and Assistant Village Manager David Strahl.
Minutes
Motion made by Trustee Corcoran and Seconded by Trustee Zadel to approve the Closed Session
Minutes of January 8, 2002. Minutes were approved.
Closed Session Minutes for the year 2001 were handed out to the Trustees for review. Staff is
requesting approval of Minutes at the February 5 Village Board meeting in Closed Session.
LitiQation
Village Manager Janonis provided an update to the Village Board regarding the
Edaeberq VS. Mount Prospect Case. He stated he anticipates a settlement demand for
consideration by the Village Board on February 5. He also stated that due to an error by the
Plaintiff's attorney, Cook County, which is truly responsible party in this Case, has been released
from the Case. He anticipated further discussion during the Closed Session on February 5.
Personnel
Property Disposal
Village Manager Janonis discussed the possible vacation ot right-ot-way along Edgewood Lane.
He stated the appraisal has come back where the land is valued at approximately $50,000 in its
current zoning configuration. It is also suggested that if it is rezoned, it could be valued at
approximately $84,000 for the piece of 66'x118'. He stated that one resident has stated she would
take 33 feet of the land but does not want to pay value and opposes the rezoning. He stated the
Statutes require that any person who wants to pay value for the property should be considered first.
'-'
Consensus of the Village Board was to offer the property to the two property owners but
require value to be paid for the property. If one of the residents does not want to pay their
portion, then that would allow the other resident to bid on the property contingent on zoning
change.
Property ACQuisition
Village Manager Janonis provided an update on the Medical Office Building on Busse Avenue.
He stated that a demand has come back at approximately $673,000 with relocation expenses and
various rent payment options.
Assistant Village Manager Strahl provided an update regarding the Bank One analysis. He stated
that the report is expected by the end of January and would be provided to the Village Board at that
time.
There was no other business discussed in Closed Session and the meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
No action was taken.
