MINUTES
CLOSED SESSION
APRIL 4, 2001
The Closed Session was convened at 9:17 p.m. by Mayor Farley to discuss Personnel and Property
Acquisition. Present were: Trustees Paul Hoefert, Richard Lohrstorfer, Dennis Prikkel and Irvana
Wilks. Absent from the Closed Session were Trustees Timothy Corcoran and Michaele Skowron.
Staff present included: Village Manager Michael Janonis and Assistant Village Manager David
Strahl.
Personnel
Assistant Village Manager David Strahl provided an overview of the status regarding the Firefighter
negotiations. He indicated there were a few outstanding items that could not be agreed upon and in
all likelihood would have to go to arbitration. It is anticipated that an Arbitrator would be on board in
early summer.
Property Acquisition
Village Manager Janonis stated that he has had discussions with lOOT regarding the property that
has been targeted for discussion purposes regarding the ring road around Rand, Route 83 and
Kensington. He stated that lOOT does not enter into any type of protective covenants and must do a
Phase I study first before even moving forward for engineering. They need to have a plan before
they start looking at property but have considered hiring engineers for a Phase I study. They also
stated they do not have funds available for purchase of the property at this point. The Village Board
suggested that any previous appraisals that the Village has undertaken be forwarded to lOOT for
their information.
Motion made by Trustee Wilks and Seconded by Trustee Hoefert to move into open session. Motion
was approved at 9:43 p.m.
