Emerson Mount Prospect, Illinois 60056 Phone: 708 / 392-6000 I=ax: 708 / 392-6022 MINUTES EXECUTIVE SESSION JULY 24, 1990 The Executive Session was called to order at 9:50 p.m., in the second floor Conference Room of the Senior Citizens Center, 50 South Emerson Street to discuss personnel and land acquisition. Present at the Executive Session were: Mayor Gerald Farley; Trustees Ralph Arthur, Timothy Corcoran, Leo Floras, George Van Geem and Theodore Wattenberg. Absent fram the Executive Session was Trustee Mark Busse. Also present were Village Manager John Dixon and Assistant Village Manager John Burg. The first item that was discussed was the purchase of the Mount Prospect Theater. The Village Manager indicated that there had been discussions with the theater owner who had indicated a desire to have his building acquired. The Village Board gave authorization for the Village Manager to negotiate with the owner on the price of the building. The second item of discussion was that there was tentative agreement with the SEIU Local #1 Public Works Union. The Village Manager brought the Board up to date indicating that the staff has reached a tentative agreement with representatives of the local union which are within the parameters originally established by the Village Board for salary increases. There is a three year term on the contract with maximum salary increase for top grade at 5% and the lower end of the scale receiving 4% and the middle end of the scale receiving 4-1/2%. Tool allowance was increased from $20 per month to $30 per month. The residency requirement was left in the agreement but expanded to include areas north and west of Elgin. The hours of operation in Public Works will be from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., May 1 through October 1 and will be 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. the rest of the year. In addition, the Union agreed to pay 10% up to $13.00 for single and $39.00 for family medical coverage to the Village which is an increase over their present dollar amounts.
