EXECUTIVE SESSION
l\1ARCH 16, 1993
The Executive Session was called to order at 10:50 p.m., in the second floor Conference
Room of the Senior Citizens Center, 50 South Emerson Street, for the purpose of
discussing Personnel and reviewing Executive Session Minutes. Present at the Executive
Session were: Mayor Gerald Farley; Trustees Mark Busse, George Clowes, Timothy
Corcoran, Leo Floros and Paul Hoefert and Irvana Wilks. Also present was Village
Manager Michael J anonis.
Personnel
The Village Manager reviewed with elected officials the proposed settlement with the
Police Union. Mr. Janonis indicated that the package included an average wage increase
of 4.25% over the three-year term of the contract and also included substantial
modifications to the Village's health insurance program. Mr. Janonis indicated these
modifications would have long-term cost benefits to the community. The Village
Manager indicated that this agreement accomplished most of the goals originally
established for these negotiations. The settlement, as configured, was in the best interest
of the Village especially when viewed in the context of the unknown results of
arbitration. After brief discussion, it was the consensus of the Mayor and Board of
Tmstees to take the official action necessary to ratify the contract.
