The Executive Session was called to order at 10:04 p.m., in the conference room of the
Senior Citizens Center. 50 South Emerson Street. for the purpose of discussing
Personnel and Potential litigation. Present at the Executive Session were: Mayor Gerald
Farley; Trustees Timothy Corcoran, Richard Hendricks, Paul Hoefert, Michaele Skowron
and Irvana Wilks. Absent from the Executive Session was: Trustee George Clowes. Also
present were: Village Manager Michael Janonis and Assistant to the Village Manager
David Strahl.
Personnel
The Village Manager reported that the management team had expressed extreme
displeasure with the fact that a tentative agreement had been voted down. It was
indicated that further negotiations would be difficult but that management was willing to
renew discussions in an effort to reach compromise. The Village Manager reported that
the Village bargaining team would maintain its position relative to all of the previously
agreed-to items.
Potential Litigation
The subject of Potential litigation was added to the Executive Session. Mr. Janonis
reported that negotiations with the owners at 1700 West Lincoln were proceeding very
slowly. Mr. Janonis indicated that the property owners were making several demands
that would be difficult to meet. The Board discussed generally the necessity to proceed
with a condemnation suit given the fact that completion of the Flood Control Project was
a critical element. The Village Manager was directed to continue negotiations with the
property owners and to report back as soon as possible regarding progress of same.
The Executive Session was adjourned at 10:30 p.m.
