The Closed Session was called to order at 8:11 p.m. by Mayor Farley, in the conference room of
Senior Center. The purpose of the Closed Session was to discuss Personnel. Present were:
Trustees Richard Lohrstorfer, Michaele Skowron, Irvana Wilks and Michael Zade!. Absent from the
Closed Session were Trustees Timothy Corcoran and Paul Hoefert. Staff present included: Village
Manager Michael Janonis, Assistant Village Manager David Strahl and Police Chief Richard
Eddington.
Personnel
He had advised the Board previously about Police Officer Allan Wilcox grievance. He stated the
grievance is now progressing to arbitration and anticipates an arbitrator being chosen in the near
future. This issue is based on Officer Wilcox being transferred out of Investigations and him moving
to the midnight shift instead of his preferred shift which was the day shift.
Village Manager provided a summary to the Village Board regarding a recently filed Discrimination
Lawsuit by Firefighter/Paramedic Tim Cunningham. He is claiming the Village violated his First
Amendment rights by his involvement with the Fire Union. Village staff is evaluating the claim in an
effort to determine the most likely legal team to defend the Village for this case. He also noted that
this Case is virtually identical to the claims made by Cunningham in his Unfair Labor Practice to the
State Labor Relations Board.
The meeting moved out of Closed Session at 8:29 p.m.
There was no further business and the meeting adjourned at 8:31 p.m.
