Janonis VILLAGE CLERK Velma W. Lowe MINUTES CLOSED SESSION OCTOBER 10, 2000 The Closed Session was called to order at 9:17 p.m., by Mayor Gerald Farley in the conference room of the Senior Center. A roll call was taken. Present were: Trustees Paul Hoefert, Richard Lohrstorfer, Dennis Prikkel, Michaele Skowron and Irvana Wilks. Absent from the Closed Session was Trustee Timothy Corcoran. Staff present included Assistant Village Manager David Strahl. The purpose of the Closed Session was to discuss Personnel and Property Acquisition. f# Personnel tJ-"-' Village Manager Janonis stated that he is planning on meeting with Police Chief Ron Pavlock to work out the Retirement Agreement details. '.. 0 a ....__ Mr. Strahl has suggested that the Village consider waiving the Trade Day policy for the year 2000 but require repayment of Trade Days in the Fire Department for any days traded during the year 2001. General consensus of the Village Board members was supportive of this revision to the Village Personnel Policy in this unique instance only. Property Acquisition Village Manager Janonis stated that the building on the corner of Busse and Elmhurst is on the market for $475,000. Unfortunately, there is no money available to purchase unless the money comes out of reserves or is borrowed. There was no action on this item. Mr. Janonis also provided an update regarding the proposed move of Northwest Electric. He has been informed that moving may commence on October 27 and all the necessary occupancies will be staged depending on the areas of the building which are completed. Litigation Village Manager Janonis stated there is a possibility that a Law Suit has been filed regarding the Zoning denial of the Spiewak property on Rand Road, however, the Village is yet to be served and this information came from a newspaper reporter doing some background research on the property. ~~ 0iJ9 ~1 ~1 @S~ d~ d~ 2)~ ~@l r ~ He also stated the Police Class Action Suit continues to wind its way through the ""- Department of Justice and the Village is fully cooperating with the Department of Justice ~UA-'-' personnel. Currently, the Department of Justice is reviewing various Police Reports for the last several years. We do not expect any follow up from DOJ for several months.
