President Congreve acknowledged receipt of a letter from League of Women Voters, stating Mrs. Eugene Harris, 305 E. COMMITTEE REPORTS FINANCE COMMITTEE - Trustee Grittani Trustee Grittani, seconded by Trustee Teichert, read Ordinance 1094: Ord. 1094 License sale AN ORDINANCE TO LICENSE AND REGULATE THE SALE Christmas trees OF CHRISTMAS TREES and moved the Board direct the President to sign and Clerk to attest and the ordinance be published in the manner provided by law. Trustee Grittani, seconded by Trustee Teichert, read Ordinance 1095: Ord. 1095 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 20.201 OF THE Dog license fees MUNICIPAL CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT RELATING TO DOG LICENSES AND FEES THEREFOR AND MOVED THE Board direct the President to sign and Clerk to attest and ordinance be published in the manner provided by law. Firemen's Report of Firemen's Pension Fund of Mount Prospect f~om Pension Illinois Dept. of Insurance referred to Finance Committee for Fund study. Chicago g NW Finance Committee recommended direct Village Attorney To review Rwy park lot matter of Chicago ~ Northwestern Railway lease for land used as lease parking lots. Driveway size The matter of driveway size limit for commercial use referred to limit Building Committee. Finance Committee studied tobacco license fees and recommended Tobacco licensemendment of Section 14.202 increasing fees to $25.00 per year. Fee iRcrease Trustee Grittani moved to direct the Village Attorney to prepare $25. an amendment to the ordinance accordingly. Trustee Bruhl seconded the motion. Unanimous approval. Finance Committee recommended Section 13.107 of Municipal Code be amended to include three additional Class C liquor licenses. Class C liquor Trustee Grittani, seconded by T~ustee Teichert, moved toconcur license increas~ith committee recommendation, in that the Liquor Commissioner be advised to issue Class C liquo~ licenses to Jewel Food Store, Northwest Highway, Village Marke~ on W. Prospect Ave. and National store now under const-~uction southwest of Rte. 83 and Golf. Trustee Bruhl oS~ected to the issueance of a license to Jewel Tea and wished licenses issued to area, void of licenses. JUDICIARY COMMITTEE - T~ustee Bergen Committee requested Report on Zoning Cases 65-15 and 17, and Report on Ordinance relating to Plan Commission to be placed on agenda ZBA Cases 1 for next meeting of the Board. and 17 Zoning Case 65-20, heard August 13, 1965 re request of John Ju~sich for special use to const~uck auto laundry and variation on rear yard requirement of 20 feet to allow construction of build- ZBE Case ing with 3 feet of rear lot line at Northeast corner of Dempste~~ 65-20 andAlgonquin Road studied by Judiciary Committee. ~ecommendat~on Jursich is to concur with Zoning Board of Appeals and deny both of petit- ionerts requests. T~ustee Bergen, seconded by T~ustee Colfer, moved that Case 65-20, petitioner John Ju~sich, be denied the requests for special use and variation. Hofert's b~ll dated July 6, 1965 in the amount $~55.00 for services ~pril 29 to June 1 and Trustee Bergen, seconded by Trustee Colfer, moved the T~easurer be directed to pay the bill and obtain a~release, E. Hofer~ bil prepared by the Village Attorney, f~om Mr. Mofert for any claims against the Village. Upon roll call: Ayes: Bergen B~uhl Colfer Grittani Teichert Motion carried. Judzcza~y Commztte does not recommend payment of a bill in the amount of Si,Si0.00 for Kenilworth Avenue Special Assessment ~63.' The contract with Mr. Hofert provided a fee of 5%, or approximately $2~500.00 if the assessment were completed; or 2%~ or approximately $975.00, if assessment not completed. Assessment had .been abandoned and village.records reflect that $1,275.00 was paid to Mr. Hofert. He acknowledges $t,190.00. Trustee Bergen moved the bill-of $1,310.00 submitted by E. Village r~ceived a letter dated Rugust 31,. 1965, fmom Thunderbird Bowling Lnes and Stri~ing Lanes, Inc. ~equesting that closing ~ours be extended from 1:00 A.M. to 6:00 A.M. and that closing hours for bars in bowling alleys be extended from 1:00 A.M. on weekdays and 2:00 A.M. on Sunday to Thursday and 3:00 A.M. on QQ~id~y and Saturday. The committee recommends -no change in the closing hours. Trustee Bergen~ seconded by Trustee Colfer, moved ~o concur with the Judiciary Committee ~ecommendation. Upon roll call: Ayes: Bemgen Colfer Teichert Bmuhl Motion carried. Judiciary Committee recommends that the Zoning Boamd of Appeals have prepared an orginal and one copy of the transcript of each zoning gase;~including cases involving less than 25% variations. The cost of the transcripts is ~o be paid by the petitioner. Trustee. Bergen moved~ Tmustee Colfer seconded% concur with the recommendation of the Judiciary Committee. COMMITTEE MEETINGS Public Works - Second Wednesday of each'month at 8:00 P.M. Schedule of Committee Meet- Building - Third Monday of each monthjat 8:00 P.M. ings Finance - First Thursday of each month at 8:00 P.M. Judiciary - No fixed night- However, a meeting is set for Monday, October 4th and October llth with people in Pairview Gardens. Police - Third Wednesday of each month at 8:00 P.M. ' Public Health and, Safety - Fourth Thursday of each month at 8:00 P.M. T~ustee Teichert requested ~o report on ma~ter of selection of police chief, although it was not an item on the Selection of Village Board agenda. Trustee Bergen stated his objection to Police Chief discussion of a matter no~ listed on the evening's agenda. How- ever, with approval of President Congreve, the Report of Police and Fire Committee meeting of Sap:ember 27th was read by ~ustee Teichert. The ~olice and Fire Committee recommended the position of Police Chief be filled, if possible, by the appointnnent of a presen~ member of the police force.
