Agreement A.D., 1967 by and betweer~ THE ELK GROVE RURAL FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT.,
Elk Grove Township, Cook County, Illinois, a municipal corporation;
Elk Grove Township, Cook County, Illinois (hereinafter referred toas
the "First Party") and the VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, TLLINOIS, a
muaicipal corporation, Wheeling and Elk Grove Township, Cook County,
Illinois, (hereinafter referred to as "Second Party"); ~-~
WHEREAS the First Party and the Second Party a~e municipal corporations
organized under the respective statutes in such case made and provided; and
WHF~S the First Party is desirous of obtaining a contract from the
Second Party for the purposes of providing fire protection and fire~
prevention services to that certain territory outlined in red on
Exhibit A attached hereto (which area so outlined constitutes the entire
and only area to be serviced by the Second Party for the First Party); and
WHEREAS the Second Party is willing to enter into a contract with the
First Party to supply such services to said area;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGRk~, ACKNOWLedGED AND UNDERSTOOD BY AND BETWEEN
THE FIRST PARTY AND THE SECOND PARTY AS FOLLOWS:
ARTICLE I: THAT for the period beginning One January A.D. 1968 to One
January A.D. 1969 at 12:00 midnight of said day bNe Second Party shall
furnish all fire fighting, fire protection, fire prevention and emergency
services by such volunteer and/or paid on call or regular firemen
available to the Second Party, as the Fire Chief of the Second Party
shall determine, to the First Party for sai8 area outlined in red on
Exhibit A attahced hereto.
ARTICLE II: THAT for the per~od of time during which these Articles
shall be in full force and effect First Party agrees to pay to and the
Second Party agrees to accept as full paymend for said fire fighting
protection and fire prevention services and ~nergency services that
amount of monies received as tax receipts collected in the year 1968
less all costs of running the said district including but not limited
to all administrative legal salaries and other expenses incurred and
less the amount of monies to be pai8 to the City of Des Plaines under
a particular Agreement for the year 1968 and the payment of said sum
shall be made in the manner following; to-wit;
,A. The sum of $10,000.06 shall be paid upon the execution of
the with ~in Articles.
B. The sum of $10,000.00 on or before April l, 1968.
C. The sum of $10,000.00 on or before July l, I968.
D. The balance ~emaining after 'all expenses have been paid.
ARTICLE III: THAT, the Fire Chief of the Second Party shall have the
sole exclusive right and responsibility to prescribe the manner and
method of giving the alarm for fire or other emergency in the territory
to be serviced by the Second Party for the First Party.
ARTICLE IV: THAT the Fire Chief designated by said Second Party shall
immediat'ely upon arriving at the scene of any alarm or emergency ( or
such other officers as may be designated by the said Second Party) have
the sole and exclusive authority and responsibility to direct and control
any and all fire fighting, fire protection, fire prevention and emergency
operations carried on at such scene or scenes, and further, that any
officers and/or firemen appointed by the First Party shall be subject to
the order and direction of the Fire Chief desi~aated by the Second Party.
ARTICLE V: THAT all fire fighting, fire protection, fire prevention and
emergency procedures conducted' under the provisions of these Articles
shall be under and in accordance wi~h the regulations and ordinances,
if any, of the Second Party.

ARTICLE VI: THAT all expense of mlnta_~ing equipment, apparatus, salaries,
insurance premimns, ~nd any and all other items of expense connected with
the several services to be supplied by the Second Party to the First
Party shall be supplied at the sole expense of the Second Party and that
the only expense falling upon the First Party shall be the payments
scheduled to be made herelnabove in Article II. The Party of the Second
Part shall have the right to enter into another agreement to~ contract
their obligation ~nder this agreement,rt~tuing with the Village of Arlington
Heights, Illinois, for the servicing of that area west of Meier Road
and also Meier Road if extended u~ther this contract as per Exhibit "A"
attached hereto.
IN ~S WHEREOF the Parties hereto have caused these Articles to be
executed by their respective officers end affixed hereunto their respective
corporate seals.
These Articles have been executed on behalf of the First Party pursuant to
adoption thereof by a resolution of the executive, bbdy of said First Party
on the 2?th day of December, A.D., 1967.
These Articles have been executed on behalf of the Second Party pursuant
to adoption thereof by a resolution of the executive body of said Second
Party on the 2nd day of January, A.D., 1968.

NOW, THEREFORE, BELIT ~ND/IT, IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE ELK GROVE RURAL FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT, ELK GROVE TOWNSHIP, COOK

comgleted executed escrow agreement. Thereupon, Trustee T~chert,

67-58A CASE 67-58A Trade Service Publications - 701 E. Prospect - variation
petition. The Judiciary Committee report reco~nended variations be
granted, providing the following stipulations are fulfilled by the petitioner:
1. That he submit to the Village Manager a new plot plan showing
the addition of ~driveway from the proposed new parking lot to
Prospect Avenue, rather from the alley.
2. A letter be sent to the Village Manager requesting that 2 - hour
parking limit siva be posted on Edward Street upon completion
of the parking lot.
Also, in deference to the citizend along Edward Street, it is the recommend-
ation of the Judiciary Committee that the following be aeco.mplished:
1. Upon completion of the new addition, 2-hour parking limit signs be
posted on Edward Street in fromt of Trade Service Publications Inc.
2, That 5-ton load limit si~as be posted at the alley intersection --
w with Edward Street to prevent trucks from proceeding south
on Edws3Dd.
3. To post other streets near Trade SerVice Publications with ,~5-ton
load limit signs so that all truck traffic will be forced to use
only Prospect Avenue when proceeding to and from Trade Service
Publications, Inc., .. with the exception of that block on
Edward Street imnediately adjacent to Trade Service Publications,
Inc. property, wSich is necessary for access to their loading dock.

Trustee Lewis read for first reading an ordinance rezoning property at
209 S. Main St. from R-1 to B-2 and requested the Clerk to place it on
the next agenda for second reading.
PUBLIC WORKS CO~VLI'l'±'~:,~ Sewage
The Public Works Cor~nittee reviewed the sewage pumping station bids pu~ing
received November 29th. There were four sealed bids over the estimated station
cost of $35,000., ranging from $43,808 to $60,604. Upon the advise of bids
the Director of Public Works and the Acting Village Hhgineer, the Public
Works Committee voted To reject the bids and return the accompanying
checks to the respective bidders. After ~ln~ther consideration of the
location of mterlals, it was decided to request permission to use
Cu~,~onwealth Edison right-of-way rather than disturb an~ public streets.
Trustee Rogers, seconded by Trustee ~ilroy, moved, all bids be rejected
and bid checks be returned to bidders, and that this item be advertised
for rebidding on the basis of relocating the force m~tn line, and also
including a unit for grinding waste materials which tend to clog the lines.
