President Teichert called the meeting to order at 8:15 P. M.

Regular meeting of May 6, 1969
The minutes of May 6, 1969 were corrected to invert paragraphs on the
first page as follows:
"~ustee Soder~u stated the President,s motion to waive notice of the meet-
lng was out of order and there was no second to the motion. President
Teichert requested the word "move" be deleted from the minutes and the
word "requested" be inserted. Also, to state Mr. Zin~mermann requested the
Board "recess" instead of adjourn, and President Teichert "recessed" the
meeting.

and stressed the press for time. He requested the ~atter be referred to the
Plan Commission to be discussed at their next meeting. The matter was
ferred to the Plan Commission as requested.
FIRE AND POLICE
!Bri~es Trustee Reiter gave a progress report on the George and See Gwun proposed
IGeo. & bridges and the Conm~ittee vms awaiting for additional and finalizing ~aterial
iSee Gwun requested of the Village ~ineer before completing the assignment.
The Committee also considered the legality of the psmphlet ordinance and
requested a legal opinion.
JUDICIARY
ICase 68-~1P Case 68-41P Mobile Oil Co. request to rezone the southwest corner of Algon-
qui~ and Busse from B-3 to B-~. ~ir. Fred Weber, 2 W. Northwest Highway, re-
presented the petitioner. He pleaded that the ordinance prohibiting gasoline
service stations placed %~ithin 300' of another did not apply in this case
because the other station was located in the City of Des Plaines. However,
the Acting Village Manager stated the ordinance on the books of Mount Pros-
pect was valid and did apply.
Trustee Lewis, seconded by Trustee Reiter, moved the BDard concur with the
recommendation of the Judicia~ Committee to concur with the Plan Commission
and deny the request.

%~ustee Furst discussed a section of the Minutes of the Regalar meeti~ on
March 18, 1969 regarding updating of a safety study with 50% of the funds

o be derived from Federal Funds. It v~s anticipated that the study would
estabilish set guidelines, analyze all intersections for hazardous conditions
for vehicleapproach, provide drawings in detail, show existing conditions
and corrective measures, study existing traffic control devices and review
drawings of intersections or streets in need of in,proved design. Trustee
Furst, seconded by Trustee Reiter, moved to adopt the proposal of Crawford,
Bunte, Roden in the amount of $11~1400 to do the survey as originally indi-
cated.

n ordinance regarding Village Board meetings was read for first
reading. It was referred to the Judiciary Committee for study.
Bids were opened for sewer bucketing machines from Flexible Pipe Purchase of
Tool Co. (Minnesota distributor) at a bid price of $6,235.80, 45 sewer bucketing
day delivery, and Flexible Company (Texas factory direct) at a machi~es
bid of $5,950.00 with 30 day delivery. The Public Wbrks Director
recommends the purchase be made from the low bidder.

Flexible sewer bucketing machine from the Texas Flexible Company
ath the price of $5,950.

The Public'W~rks Director recommends the Vi]ta~ accept the low bid
of Grand Spaulding Auto Sales, Inc. on a Dodge D200 truck. The Purchase of
company also submitted a trade-in allowance of $225. on a 1961 Chev-Dodge D200
rolet pickup truck and $600 trade-in for a 1963 Ford truck, rH~ truck
further recommended that the Village accept the trade-in allowances
towards purchase of the new vehicle, bringing, the cost to the Village
to $1,974.

bid of Grand Spaulding Auto Sales, Inc. for purchase of a Dodge D200
truck at $2,799.

Bids were opened for 32,000 G~ Truck and the recommendation of the Purchase of
Public Works Director is to purchase the truck from the lowest quail-32,000 GVW
fled bidder, Grand-Spaulding Auto Sales, Inc. for $6,909 on a Dodge T~ck
C-800 truck. Trustee Reiter, seconded by Trustee Soderman, moved
to approve the purchase of the Truck from Grand-Spaulding Sales, Inc.
for $6,909.

Bids were opened for an 8 cu. yd. dump body with a minimum 16 ton hoist
and Gar Wood Chicago Truck Equip. Co. bid $2,495. The amount set aside
in the budget for the truck and body was $9,000. The Actir4q .~llage Purchase ol
Manager stated that although the reco~ndation would be to purchase the8 cu. yd.
truck body from Gar Wood, this would exceed the budget by $404. Trusteedtmp body
Reiter, seconded by Trustee F~rst, moved to accept the recommendation of
the Acting Village Manager for the purchase of the dump body from Gar
Wood in the amount of $2,495, exceeding the budgeted awount of $404.

Bids were opened for the purchase ~£ a street sweeping machine and it was
the recommendation of the I~irector of Public Works to accept the low bid Pruchase
of Schuster Equipment for a Wayne sweeper in the amount of $15,300 and a of street
cab pressurizer unit in the amount of %675, or a total cost of the unit sweeping
in the amount of $15,975. Trustee Reiter, seconded by Trustee Kilroy, machine
moved to concur in the recommendation and purchase the Wayne street mweeD-
lng machine from Shcuster Equipment bmpany in the total awount of
$15,975.

Sealed bids were opened for the pruchase of a leaf loading machine.
The Director of Public Works recor~ended the purchase of the Tarco
Purchase of unit from E. H~ Lyins F~uipment Co~pany at their bid price of $4,998,
ileaf loadingless 2% cash discount, or a total cost of $4,898.04. There was a lower
machine bid of $3,305 fro~ Illinois Truck and 'Equipment but it did not meet Village
Specifications. Trustee Reiter, seconded by Trustee Sode~, ~oved to con-
cur in the recor~rendation of the Public Works Director and pruchase the leaf
loading machine to R. H. Lyons in the amount of $4,898.04~.

Bids were opened for purchase of a lawn and garden tractor and the Director
Purchase of of Public Works recor~mended the bid from International Harvester Co. for
lawn and $1,136 on a 12 HP LNternational Cadet model 125 be accepted. This exceeds
garden the budget by $136. Trustee Lewis, seconded by Trustee Reiter, moved to
tractor purchase the lawn and garden tractor from International Harvester Co. for
$1,136 on a 12HP International Cadet model 125 in concurrence with the
recommendation of the Director of P blic Works°
