Approval of Minutes of January 21, 1969 - change amendment to read "two
additional volunteers". Trustee Feiter, seconded by Trustee Soderman,
moved the minutes of February 4, 1969 be approved as amended.

President Congreve presented plaques to the above recipients for their
outstanding services to the conmunity and conm~nded each for his p~rtici~
pation in civic affairs.
BUILDING COMMI'~.'3.'.~
Trustee Soderman gave a report on the findings of the Building Committee
with regard to about 100 buildings open to the public with entrance and
exit doors swinging inward, creating a hazard in the event of an emergency.
The reconm~ndation of the Building Committee was for an amendment to the
Fire Prevention Code to correct these conditiomm and trustee~Reiter, seconded
by Trustee Grittani, moved to concur with the Building Committee. Unanimous.
Trustee Soderm~n read for first reading an ordinance amending the Fire Prevention
Code and requested the Clerk to place it on the next agenda for final reading.

AN oRDINANCE ~ENDING SECTION 13.106 OF THE
MOUNT PRCSPECT MUNICIPAL CODE
The ordinance e~tablishes the annual fee for Class ,'M, liquor licenses at
$2,000. Trustee Kilroy, seconded by Trustee Reiter, moved for passage of
Ordinance #2141. Under discussien, in Section Two: The wording was revised
to read "for the fiscal year beginning May l, 1969, and continuing thereafter".

FIEE AND POLICE
Trustee Reiter gave a report of the Fire and Police Committee and the recommen-
dation by a vote of 3-0 to renumber the 100 block of Ermmerson Lane in Fair-
view Gardens to 1400's and desi~aate En~erson Lane as east/west street.
Trustee Reiter, seconded by Trustee Grittani, moved to concur with the recom-
mendation of the Fire and Police Committee.

Trustee Reiter reported on committee consideration of the administration's
action regarding private police bearing side arms while on duty on public
streets and voted 3-0 to concur. The con~f~ttee will study the feasibility
of an auxiliary police reserve. The Village Manager was requested to pro-
vide adequate traffic control for the affected areas until the matter is
resolved.

taken by the administration.

Memorandum from Village Manager reporting that on February 14, 1969 sealed bids
were opened for proposed contruction of a manhold for the relief pumping station.
Cne bidder, Rossetti Contractors, responded to the notice with a bid far in excess
of the estimate of the Village Engineer. It is the recommendation of the
Village Manager and Engineer to reject the bid received and return the bid bond.
Trustee Lewis, seconded by Trustee Reiter, moved to concur with the recommendation.

Bids were received on February 14, 1969 for the relief pumping station put,ps and
electrical controls and necessary appurtenances thereto, The Engineering
Department and Village ManaEer request additional time for determination and
recommendation because of a variance of approximately $1,500 between the two

estimade at $1200); the extension of the Mount Prospect Plaza water mains
(engineering estimate $8400); and the Lonnquist Parkway water main extension
(engineering estimate $1800), Based on bids received, Jos. D. Foreman & Co.
of Palatine, Ill. reflect the low qualifying bidder as per iter~zed sheet,
and the Village M~nager concurs with the Village Engineer and Public Works
Director~in recorm~nding that Jos. D. Foreman & Co. be the vendor with respect
to the iter~ covered for the purchase of pipe and appurtenances thereto on
Februaz-y 145h. Trustee Lewis, seconded by Trustee Kilroy, moved the contract
be awarded to Jos. D. Forman and Co. and the Manager be authorized to expend
? !1,4oo.

President Congreve recommended the name of James Tielsch~ 21 N. Pine as a member
of the Youth Commission and requested Board concurrence. Trustee Kilroy, second-
ed by Trustee Reiter, moved to concur with the President's recommendatlcn.
President Congreve recommended the name of Edwin Henrich~ 431 N. Fairview as a
member of the Insurance Commission for a term of one year. Trustee Reiter,
seconded by Trustee Soderman, moved to concur in the appointment, Unanimous.
Trustee Lewis, seconded by Trustee Kilroy, moved to refer the Worley tentative
plat of subdivision to the Plan Commission for review and recomnendation. Unanimous.

Trustee Lewis, seconded by Trustee Soderman, moved to refer Kaplan and Braun
Unit #4 to the Plan Conm~ssion. Unanimous.
Minutes of the Safety Commission of February l, 1969 were referred to the Public
Health and Safety Committee.
Cook County zoning case Docket 1443 Algonquin Rd. west of Busse - Notice from
Board of Appeals of reclassification of subject property from R-4 Single-Family
Residence District to R-6 General Residence District was referred to Judiciary
Committee.
