k~ell #11 The Village Menager gave a status report on the progress of well
number ll. Parts have been taken from the well and are at the
factory to be checked. Colurmns are in the process of being
straightened. The work should take another three weeks. The
Village Manager reconm~nds payment to J. P. Miller in the amount of
$17,546.50. In addition, he recormnends outstanding bills be paid
to William Ziegler in the amount of $17,479.60. He estimates another
$5,000. for reinstallation.

I & E D Con~. Mr. George Fl~herty, Chairman of the Industrial and Economic
Annual Report Development Commission, presented an annual report with certain
recommendations, which was referred to the first Board Meeting in
August.
Executive Ses- EXECUTIVE SESSION
sion The meeting was called into Executive Session at 8:45 P.M. and
was reconvened at 9:25 P.M.

Village ~Ffr. This Executive Session was called at the request of the Village
resi~o~nation Manager for the purpose of talking to the Board regarding his
resignation, effective at a date indeterminate.
Finance Corfu. FINANCE COMMi'I'±'EE
The Appropriation Ordinance was presented for first reading. Mr.
Appropriation Grittani appeared before the Board to request an appropriation for
Ordinance ~Senior Citizen's Center be included in the Appropriation
Ordinance. However, it was the sense of the Board that no funds
could be made available. Mr. Gilbert Liebenow of the Library Board
also addressed the Board. It was the original request of the
Library Board to include the amount of $191,200. But this request
was later reduced to $188,200. Included in the Appropriation
Ordinance was $182,000 for the Library. No action was taken on
a readjustment of the figure appropriated for the library.
Spec-lal ~eetir~ A Special Meeting was called by President Teiche~ for Tuesday,
July 28, 1970 at 8:00 P.M. for second reading of the Appropriation
Ordinsnce, and an Executive Session on the subject of personnel
was called for 7:30 P.M. that evening.
Fire & Police FIRE AND POLICE
Committee It was the unanimous opinion of the FIre and Police Committee
to enter into an agreement between Arlington Heights, Elk Grove,
Central Dispatc~and Mount Prospect for a Centralized Dispatching Program.

It was further noted that the fourth paragraph erroneously
deleted Elk Grove in the resolution.

Grove in the fourth paragraph of Besolution 14-70.

T~ustee Norris requested the Village Manager to check the grant
application and advise the Board in further detail regarding those
items listed on page two.
PDBLIC WORKS COF~i'I'I'~ Public Works Co~m.
Trustee Furst presented the Pinnar Eleetrlc Service Contract for
traffic signals. He advised this to cover si~alization at ap- Pinnar Electric
proximately twelve intersections within the Village at a charge of Service Contract
$90 per month per intersection. The annual contract is appmoximately
$13,000. However, since one-fourth of the year has passed, which
would reduce the aforen~mtioned figure~ would be more realistically
set at $10,000. No action was taken at this time. Further consideration
of the Pinnar Electric Contract will await an opinion from the Public
Works Director.
OTHER BUSINESS
President Teichert recormmended the reappointment of Glen Thornell Reappointment of

WateP ~ ~, .... , President Teichert reported that on July 18, Arlington Heights
~ , -o,., suffered a water shortage. Mount Prospect supplied the Village
through the emergency connection. Ah accounting will be .made of the

President Teichert reported that in the absence of the Village Absence of Village
Attorney on July 15, due to an automobile accident, the Village .Attorney
M,mlager had requested the services of Robert Bush as Village appoint Robert Bush
Prosecutor and requested Board ratification of his action. As Village Attorney
Trustee F~rst, seconded by Trustee Ahem, moved to ratify the
action of the Villag~ Manager in the appointment of Robert Bush
as Village Prosecutor on July 15.

It has been the practice to transport diseased trees to a location Diseased Trees
known as the Portwine Site, located near the Village of Wheeling. However,
the administration hms been advised that residents in the area have
opposed the burning of these diseased trees. A letter dated June 30,
from the Forest Preserve District of Cook County, requests comments
from the administration on the necessity of the site to continue an
effective D~tch Elm and related disease control program.

Bequest of Saint Cecilia Church re off-si~ sanitary sewer and
water msln installed September, 1969 on Lonnquist Boulevard, west

Trustee Eeiter~ reported he will be out of the village from July 27,
to August 19.
Building Conmittee meeting scheduled for July 22 was cancelled.
The next Building Co~ttee meeting will be held August 26.
President Teichert requested Trustee Ahem to investigate the All Saints Cet:~ete~
~'~ possibility of'snnexation of All Saints Cemetery.
