Hanna and Mrs. Betty Johnson, presented the colors.

~ICATIONS & PETITIONS
Mrs. Jane Cantieri, 419 S. I-Oka, presented the Board with a petition Up gr~t~ug of
signed by 470 people, requesting the upgrading of the traffic light traffic light at
installation at Northwest Highway and Central Road. This matter was ~ Hwy and Cen~
considered further during the report of the Public Health and Safety requested
Committee.

The Village Manager requested authorization to purchase 1,250 feet
of fire hose from Michael J. Dalton Co. of Barrington for the low
bid of $2,450. Trustee Reiter, seceded by Trustee Furst moved
to purchase 1,250 feet of fire hose from Michael Jo Dalton Co. of
-Baz-.rlngton for the low bid of $2,450.

Multiple Sclerosi~he Village Manage_r reported a request was received free Cb_icago Uhapter of Nationa& Multiple Sclerosis Society to conduct an
appeal in Mo~mt Prospect from May ll.. to May 17 of this year°
No action required by Village Board.
24,B46.60 for The Village Manager requested authorization for final payment of
Completion $24,B46.60 for completion of Well #11. He reported the ~Ngineers
of Well #ll recommended acceptance of the project, subject to the contractor's
replacement of a top guide bearing that malfunctioned after inst-
allation of the pump. This Matter was deferred to the next regular
meeting in order to detect,ne whether the fault was corrected before
final payment is made.
The Village Nsn~3ger requested authorization for Consoer, Townsend
& Assoc. to prepare plans and specifications for the Hatlen H~ights
storm sewer special assessment project (SA #70). Trustee Nor~-ls,
SA #70 secom~ed by Trustee Ahern, moved to engage the services of Consoer,
Townsend & Assoc. to prepare the plans and specifications for the
Hatlen Heights storm sewer special assessment project.

Motion carried.
Further, the Village Manager and Village ~ugineer were directed
to proceed with the plans checked in the special assessment, and
after the engineering is in line to refer this matter to the
Board of Local Improvements.
Northwest Muni- A request was received f~cm the Northwest Municipal Conference for
cipal Conference a contribution equal to ten conts per capita to the Conference for
the purpose of financing a transportation needs study. Trustee
Furst, seconded bY Trustee Kilroy, moved that subject to the
operation of the member commum~ties in the Northwest Municipal
Conference that Mount Prospect participate in the transportation
study entitled "Transportation Needs for the Northwest Municipal
Conference Area" in the amount of ten cents per capita as the
Village contribution.

The Village Manager advised the Board M~. Teepe, representative
to D~MP, was unable to attend the Board meeting due to DAMP and
Tree Towns meeting Scheduled for this date.

listing Village officials and employees who ~eceive free vehicle
stickers. ~ Village Attorney was requested to draft an smendatory
resolution for this meeting providing for issuauce of i~e vehicle
sti~kers to the Park and School Districts 214 and 57. Trustee
Kilroy, seconded by Trustee Fu~st, moved to co. cur with the recom-
me. clarion of the Finance Committee in amending Resolution 27-65
to include vehicles registered in Mount Prospect operated by the
Psrt~ District and School Districts 214 and 57.

request for liquor license.
Trustee Kilroy advised the Finance Cu~.tttee had bean requested Jewel Food Store
to consider an application of Jewel Food Store in Rsndhurst for Randhurst liquor

The Finance CoEmlttee will conmence primary budget hearings at
7:30 p.m. each Monday for the next sevan weeks, budget hearings set

Trustee Fmrst gave a Committee s~atus report on a~plane noise pollution.

The Public Health and Safety Co~¢ittee reviewed a recent report
signalization of Crawford, Bunte, Rodeo, Inc. with respectto the recoem~atio~
of Central & that the si~aalization of the interSectic~ of Central and North-
NW Hwy west Highway be rev~d to include several overhead sisnals
having 12" indicaiton and phasing for separate left hand turns
fl~om Northwest Highway and for eastbound Cent/~al Road traffic,
as well as the prohibition of lefthand turns for westbound Central
into Norhtwest Highway, Trustee Furst advised nothing could be
done with the lights without State approval, and the Village
Manager was directed to discuss this with State officials. It was
~ndersto0d ther~ would be immediate approval from the State if
the intersection were modernized at a cost of'approximately
$100,000. Trustee Ftwst emphasized thatj if t~e work were
menced imm~diately, it would take u~til November to complete. The
Village Manager was requested to obtain more information and report
back to the Board. Trustee Reiter, seconded by Trustee Norris,
moved that the administration move in all due process to correlate
all mechanics to upgrade this croaslnM. Unahimous.
