MAYOR'S REPORT
Trustee Richardson, seconded by Trustee Scholten, moved for
passage of Resolution No. 30-72:
motion for A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION FOR THE SERVICES EXTENDED
passage of BY REVEREND EDWIN I. STEVENS
Resolution No.
30-72 WHEREAS, Reverend Edwin I. Stevens, affectionately known as
"Pastor Steve" has devoted his knowledge and dedication to
the task of serving his church and our community as the dedi-
cated Pastor of the South Church Community Babtist; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Steve has served unselfishly and diligently
in this capacity for the past thirty-five years; and
WHEREAS, the residents of the Village of Mount Prospect have
been greatly enhanced by the efforts expended by Pastor S~eve;
and
WHEREAS, the residents of the Village of Mount Prospect are
deeply indebted to Pastor Steve for his many years of distin-
guished service to his church and his community; and
[ _ ~WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect wishes to express its
public gratitude on the occasion of his 35th anniversary and
retirement from the ministry;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF YHE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That by this Resolution the Mayor and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect express to Pastor
Steve their deep gratitude for his years of dedicated, faithful,
and conservative service as a religious leader; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that as a perpetual memento a copy of
this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of the Board of
Truszees of the Village of Mount Prospect and that s certified
copy of it inscribed on suitable parchment be delivered to
Pastor Steve; and
BE I7 FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage and approval in
the manner provided by law.

There was a request by the Red Cross to speak to the Board
regarding the blood donor ~rogram, so the blood donor program
agreements submitted by the North Suburban Association for

ize the Village Board to enter into a Consent Decree to term-
inate the litigation known as the Century Tile case.

The following residents in the area voiced opposition to approval
of the Consent Decree in the Century Tile case: Louis Valesco,
Warren Jeneske, Mr. Weise, Mrs. Walter Jeske. Robert Bush spoke
in favor of approving the Consent Decree.

Motion defeated.
Mayor Teichert reported that Dr. Michael Ruane had resigned
as a member of the Board of Health and he recommended the
appointment of Dr. Fred Neal, 1211 Robin Lane, to fill the
unexpired term - to May 1, 1976, and requested Board con-
currence. Trustee Furst, seconded by Trustee Ahern, moved
to concur in the Mayor's appointment of Dr. Fred Neal for a
term to expire May 1, 1976.

Trustee Anderson, seconded by Trustee Richardson, moved for
passage of Ordinance #2397 conditioned upon presentation of

An ordinance amending the regulations for fences was
presented for first reading and the Clerk was requested
to place it on the next agenda for final passage.
Case 72-36A - petition of Daniel O'Brien, 1604 Dogwood
Lane. The Board of Appeals recommended approval of the Case~y2-36A
request for a 16' rear yard setback. Trustee Ahem, seconmea
by Trustee Furst, moved to concur in the recommendation of
the Board of Appeals to permit a setback of 16' as petitioned
in Case #72-36A.

JUDICIARY COMMITTEE
An ordinance amending Map 50-N of the Mount Prospect Zoning
Ordinance was presented for final passage. This case, de-
ferred from the meeting of September 19, 1972, was a req~nance amend
to rezone from R-t to R-4 property on the west side of .
River Road north of Camp McDonald Road Case 72-10P. M~Qg Map ~0-N
David Freedman of Freedman Engineers appeared for the petitioners
to discuss the sanitary sewer system Dr. Mehta, a resident of
Tano Lane, appeared as an objector. Mr. Ben Herman of Yuma Lane
submitted a petition signed by 352 homeowners and residents
opposing the rezoning. Frederick Scherhorn, a resident of
Park Drive also voiced his objection.
Trustee Link stated he would abstain from voting because of a
conflict of interest. He represented those objectors in liti-
gation. Trustee Anderson, seconded by Trustee Richardson, moved
for passage of Ordinance 2399 An ordinance amending Map 50-N
of the Mount Prospect Zoning Ordinance.

A report was submitted from the Plan Commission on Case
72-20P petitioner Kenroy, Inc. Huntington northwest
corner of Dempster and Elmhurst - from R,4 to B-4 PUD,
Case?2-20P known as the May Department Store complex. The case was
referred to the Judiciary Committee.
OTHER BUSINESS
The public hearing on a pre-annexation agreement for property
south of Algonquin and east of Nordic Road was'continued
to the next regular meeting.
