The petition was at the request of E.L. Trendel Assoc. Inc. (Case 71-3P). Trustee Ahern, seconded by Trustee Richardson, moved to authorize the Mayor to sign and the Clerk to attest, upon annexation of the property, subject to the pre- annexation, the plat of annexati.on. MAYOR'S REPORT Mayor Teichert proclaimed Trick or Treat Day October 29, 1972 between the hours of l:O0 P.M. and dusk. Whole October 17, 1972 MANAGER'S REPORT The Village Manager commended David Creamer-and the Public Works Department for the effectiveness of ~the earthen dime along Lawrence Lane which has alleviated the flooding commend pro~'lem. MANAGER'S REPORT The Village Manager reported after consultation with the Village Engineer, and George March, of the Drainage and Clean Streams Commission, they would proceed with Consoer, Townsend and Associates to study the flooding problems. The Village Manager stated that illegal signs posted on parkways would be removed. Busse Road.- Case No. 72-~iti°n for sign variations) - The Village Attorney oil eported there is a problem with this property, located Marathon V__adjacent to Fire Station #2 created by the setbacks of Co. ~ 50' and 30' on the corner, the need for clear, visibility for the fire apparatus as well as easy ingress and egress, and location of the signs. The Village.has placed restrictions on the subdivision plat which had been previously recorded, and the question posed now is whether or not variations can be granted to those restrictions or whether Marathon Oil Company will be required to produce a new subdivision plat. Discussion followed regarding the 9 parking --- spaces at the front of the store, adjacent to Northwest Highway, creating a hazard. The case was to be further considered at the next meeting on November 8th. EXECUTIVE SESSION Litigation The Mayor and Board of Trustees adjourned for Executive Sess16n regarding litigation at 10:35 P.M. The members Executive reconvened at 11:15 P.M. FIRE AND POLICE COMMITTEE Trustee Scholten presented for first reading an okdinance regarding stop and yield sign warrants and requested the Clerk to place it on the next agenda November 8th. Mr. Claus Dyck, 1722 Camp McDonald Rd. di~scussed the problems involved if the ordinance were enforced. He r'- is the owner of property on a corner. He questioned whether, if they were judged to be a hazard, he would be reimbursed-for the removal of some blue spruce trees. The matter was debated at great ~ength but no action was taken. October 17, 1972 The Committee recommended designation of streets as arterials as suggested by the Village Engineer and Safety Commission. These streets were those also recommended in the Crawford, Bunte and Roden Traffic Survey.
