COMMUNICATIONS AND PETITIONS Mr. Ray C. Friend, 414 S. Wille St. represented members of a committee formed to consider the safety hazard at Route 83 from Prospect Avenue to Council Trail. This matter will' be-discussed with the Safety Commission on cormmittee forme~o~ember 6th at 7:30 P. Mayor ~eichert directed a memorandum to the Board dated Oct'ober'3rd regardin~ the Mayor"S Steeri~ng Commi:ttee as it concer:n's the MetropOlitan Hb~sing Coalition of the Leadership Council for Metropolitan Open Comm'unities. Metropolitan There are three basic procedures for funding and subsidiz- Housing ing housing: 1') the government buys Dro6e~ty in the muni- Coalition cipality and makes it available on its terms without con- sent of the municipality; 2) the government helps private enterprise buy the property and imposes 'limi:ted terms, also without the consent of the municipality; and 3) the government buys the property in cooperation with the local government and imposes limited terms, but with the consent of the munidioality. Services Commission Mayor Teichert reported that on the agenda of the next Board Meeting he 'will read a proclamation to the community desig- nating "Trick or Treats Day" the Sunday before Halloween to ensure the safet~ of children going about the community Trick or Treavsduring the daylight hours rather than after dark.
