COMMUNICATIONS AND PETITIONS
Mr. Dick Huntsinger, 921 S. Nawata, Mrs. A. Biallas, 919 S.
Nawata, appeared before the Board to seek relief from flood-
ing problems at Nawata and Golf Rd. caused by construction of
the new roadway. The Village Manager was requested to discuss
this matter with the Village Engineer and State Highway De-
partment and Metropolitan Sanitary District. discussion on
flooding problem:
Mr. Paul Bangston, 2106 Jody Court, described the diffi-
culties he encountered during the recent heavy rain when
his home was flooded. In his opinion the damage was caused
by a dike built to divert water from a farm at the rear of
hSs property. The administration was requested to investigate.
MANAGER'S REPORT
Bids were opened on September 5th for MFT Contract 47-CS, for
resurfacin9 3694 feet of Burning Bush Lane from Euclid to
Tano Lane, Henry Street from Kenilworth to dead end, opening
William Street from Golf Road to Weller Creek, and Sunsetbids for
Road from Edward St. to William St. It was the recommendationre-
of the Deputy Engineer, with concurrence by the Village Man-surfac~
ager, that the award be made to Arrow Road Construction Coif s~reev
for a total of $150,946.10, the low bid. Trustee Anderson,
seconded by Trustee Scholten, moved to award the bid on MFT
47-CS to the low bidder, Arrow Road Co. in the amount of
$150,946.10.

he Village Manager directed a memorandum to the Board
regarding the Randhurst Corporation request for financial

Board regarding a request from the Fire Chief to sell one
Ford Darley 500 GPM Pumper, and recommended authorization

The Village Manager presented a memorandum from the Budget
Officer regarding revisions to the annual budget for the
fiscal year 1972-73. Trustee Ahern, seconded by Trustee

Present during the consideration of the above ordinance were
several mail carriers who voiced opposition to its oassage

MAYOR'S REPORT
Mayor Teichert proclaimed the month of September as
Children's Lung Disease Month and September 10 through Septem-
ber 17 as Children's Lung Disease Week, urging the citizens mf

BUILDING COMMITTEE REPORT
It was the recommendation of the Building Committee to approve
the petition for variation requested by Mt. ProspeCt Moose
special use Lodge #660, for a special use permi't to operate a lodge at

Lodge :~60 recommendation of the Board Of Appeals. ('Case 72-22A).

The Building Committee recommended that the Mayor and Board
of Trustees submit a resolution to the Illinois State Toll
Highway authority indicating a need for additional ramps
for ingress and egress from the Northwest Tollway in th~dditional
southern portion of Mount Prospect. Trustee Anderson,
seconded by Trustee Scholten, moved to concur in the r~§ £or in-

The Building Committee considered the condition of public
alleys within the Village.. It was the opini.on of the
Committee that the alleys should be of ~uch condition that

the motoring public can use them without fear of damagi~n~ition of
the automobile or causing dust to circulate. Trustee
Anderson requested an opinion from the Village Attorne~ubtic alleys

FIRE AND POLICE COMMITTEE
Motion postponed indefinitely: "Trustee Scholten,
seconded by Trustee Furst, moved for vacation of Serafine Drive
with the stipulation there would be no ingress or egress on
Rand Road." The Chairman of the Fire and Police Committee
requested the motion be placed on the agenda of the next
regular meeting.
PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE
Trustee Link submitted a report on a tree maintenance program
for the balance of the fiscal year 1972-73 and the Public
Works Committee recommended that the Board approve, and in
turn, direct the Village Attorney to draft an appropriate
contract to cover the tree program with A. J. Davis and Co.
vree program- at a monthly rate of $6,500 for the period 9/1/72 through
A.J. Davis and 4/30/73. Trustee Link, seconded by Trustee Scholten, moved
