COMMUNICATIONS AND PETITIONS
Mr. A. G. Bloecher, owner of the Norgetown Self-Service
Laundry at 1722 W. Dempster directed a letter to the
Cle~k'regarding the increase in his business license fee
from $30.00 to over $300.00 due to the~new method of
charging by the machine. This matter was referred tmew method o
the Finance Committee to establish an exact fee forcharg±ng £or
laundromats. The next regularly scheduled meeting of B~ine~
the Finance Committee is July 17th at 8:00 P. M. and~ieen~e per

Mr. Oberwetter, a resident of Hatlen Heights, spoke
flodding in Hatlen before the Board regarding the flooding problem in
Heights his area which he claimed was caused by the run-off from the
Magnus Farm, and by diagrams, suggested how the proble~
could be alleviated] One ~diagra~ was presented to the
Village Engineer for his review.
Mayor Teichert discussed certain amendments to the
liquor license code. Trustee Scholten, seconded by
Trustee Richardson, moved to concur with the proposal ~
ammending Sec.t3.11$hat prohibitions against amusement devices be reDealsed
from the liquor license code and approved passage of an
ordinance amending Sec. 13.114 for first reading.

Trustee Richardson, seconded by Trustee Furst, moved
to concur in the proposal to amend the liquor license
code, Section 13.115 to change the closing hour weekdays
from l:O0 to 2:00 A. M. and to approve passage of the
ordinance for first reading.

The Village Attorney was requested to conduct a survey

COMMITTEE CHAIRMEN REPORTS
BUILDING COMMITTEE
Trustee Anderson stated a "windshield" survey was made
of the current exterior of various buildings and prop-
erties in the Village. Trustee Anderson, seconded by
lrustee Furst, moved to concur with the Commi.ttee's
recommendation to have the Building and Zoning Director
s~end communications to owners of properties in poor and
unsightly condition, spelling out the problems to be
corrected voluntarily and requesting cooperation.

the Architectural Committee and Fire Prevention Bureau --

FIRE AND POLICE COMMITTEE
The ~F~re and Police Committee met with the Safety Commis-
sion on June 29th. A sight distance ordinance was pre-
sented and recommended for passage with the understanding

The Village Attorney gave an oral report stating the State

Algonquin and east of Nordic Road was continued to the

The Village Engineer reported on a bid ooening June 28th,
1972 for construction of two two-million gallon water
tanks. They are to be located at Well #16 and Old
bid cpening for Orchard. After discussion regarding monies available, it
waver tank was agreed to confine consideration to the tank on the
south side and have the administratio~ review the program
as it relates to the Consent Decree for 01d Orchard. The
Clerk was requested to place the matter on the agenda of
the next regular meeting. Following is a synopsis of the

Mayor Teichert read a letter from Vice President Agne~eply letter
