PRESIDENT'S REPORT
The Fire Prevention Poster contest, sponsored by fire prevention
the Fire Department and the Randhurst Corp. was poster contest
held during Fire Prevention week. 'Mrs. Margaret
Irwin of the Randhurst Corp. and Chief Pairitz
were present to announce the contest winners and

computer system Trustee Furst reported that the compuver system
study study involving Arlington Heights, Des Plaines,
Park Ridge and Mount Prcspect is still being
reviewed in detail by the Finance Committee but
there is no recommendation ay this time.
JUDICIARY COMMITTEE
Euclid plat of Trustee Ahern reported the Euclid plat of ease-
easement ment, fully executed by the President and Clerk
in 1968, had never been recorded. This ease-
menv is a strip of propervy located on the north
side of Euclid. The Judiciary Committee did nov
determine whether the owner still wished to have
the plat recorded, whether, legally, it can be
enforced, and because of the length of time since
it had been executed, whether it would be ac-
ceptable for recordation. This mavver was re-
ferred to the administration.

Street Names" be deleted from their Committee

An ordinance amending Map 2~S of the Zoning Ordinance
(Case 71-liP) rezoning from B-~ to B-4 1000 S.
Elmhurst was presented for first reading and the
Clerk was requested to place it on the next agenda
for final reading.

(Case 71-12P) was presented and Trusvee Ahern,
seconded by Trustee Scholten, moved vo waive the
rules requiring two readings of an ordinance.

PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY COMMITTEE
The Committee recommended the Village Board
authorize the expenditure of $200 for membership $200 membership fe
fee in the O'H~re Area Noise Abatement Council in the 0'Hare Area
and to direct the administration to have a re- Noise Abatement

A discussion followed regarding the esvablishment
MSD treatment of a Metropolitan Sanitary District treatment
plant in Des Plain~ant in Des Plaines. This has been held up
at Rte. 83 & by litigation. Trustee Anderson, seconded by
Tollway Trustee Scholten, moved ~or the Village administra-
tiom and Mayor, acting on behalf of the Board ye
write the particular agencies involved, expres-
sing endorsement of MSD treavment plant in Des
Plaines at Route 83 and the Tollway and recommend
it be accomplished promptly.

VILLAGE MANAGER'S REPORT
Appointment of The Village Manager announced the appointment of
Leonard H. Dicke Leonard H. Dicke, as Village Engineer and Mrs.

Charles Klehm Bids were opened for trees to be planted in the
contract for 500 parkways and it was the recommendation of the
trees at $15 unit Director of Public Works and Village Manager
price to award the convract ~o Charles Klehm. Trustee

award the contract for 500 trees at $15.00 unit
price To Charles Klehm.

EAGLE SCOUTS WAYNE AND VICTOR TANABE Eagle Scouts
Scoutmaster Libman of Troop 44 at the Parkview Wayne and Victor
School presented Wayne and Victor Tanabe to Tanabe
the President and Board of Trustees. They were
accompanied by their parents. President Teichert
commended the brothers on their achievements.
COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS
President Teichert reported the appointment of Appointment of
George March to the Drainage and Clean Streams George March to
Commission was to fill the vacancy created by the Drainage and
the resignation of Trustee George Anderson, Clean Streams
for a term to expire May 1, 1972. Commission to fill

To fill the vacancy created by the resignation
of E. Van Huisseling as a member of the Drainage
and Clean Streams Commission, President Teichert John O'Neill to t~
recommended the appointment of John O'Neill, 1014 Drainage and Clear

President Teichert recommended the appointment of Appointment of
Dr. Conrad Mazeski to the Community Services and Dr. Conrad Mazeski
Mental Health Commission for a three year term and to the Community
requested Board concurrence. Trustee Scholten, Serv. & Mental
seconded by Trustee Furst, moved to concur in the Health Comm. 3 yr.
President's appointment.
