CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Teichert called the meeting to order at 8:15 PM.
-INVOCATION
Trustee Scholten gave the invocation.
PRESENTATION OF COLORS
The 4~H Club under the leadership of Mrs. Alice Mueller posted
the colors. Randy Kiner explained explained to the Board
the programs and projects of the 4-H Club~ and then cupcakes
were distributed to the Mayor and Board of Trustees.

Correction to refer North S%burban Mass Transit District to
Judiciary Committee. Trustee Hendricks, ~econded by Trustee
Richardson, moved for approval of the minuees of October 1, 1974,
as amended.

MAYOR'S REPORT
Mayor Teichert proclaimed Law Enforcement Week October 20 to
October 2~, 1974.
Mayor Teichert proclaimed American Education Week October 27 ~o
November 2, 1974.
The resolution commemorating the memory of former Village Clerk
Roy Schlemmer was deferred to the November 5th meeting.
Appointments by the Mayor were deferred to the November 5th meeting.

The Building Committee recommended concurrence with the Zoning
Board recommendation to approve granting variations for use of DANIELS

Hwy. - variation tO permit in B-3 zoning, the operation of ZBA-35-SU-74
a laundry and dry cleaning establishment, using a shirt presser L-NOR
two automatic wa~ers and extractors, two body pressers, CLEANERS
two sleeve pressers, and two collar and cuff pressers. The
business has been in operation for-~8 years at the same
address. Trustee ~aylor, seconded by Trustee RiChardson, moved
to concur in the recommendation of the Zoning Board of Appeals
to grant the variation requested providing a flashing overhead
sign at the place of business be removed to be brought into
confommity with the Village Code.

Rezone from.B-3 to B-4. Trustee Caylor, seconded by Trustee CASE
Scholten, moved to concur with the Zoning Board of App~els ZBA-2-Z-73
and the Building Committee recommendation to grant the re-
quested rezoning, and the Village attorney to prepare the
appropriate ordinance.

(with the intent to issue a Class "L" liquor license to

An ordinance raising bid amounts from $1500 to $250~ was read
for first reading and the Clerk was requested to place it on
the November 5th agenda.

Mayor Teichert calle~ a Special Board Meeting to be held
October 22 to d~scuss and determine the dollar amount of
the bond issue.
JUDICIARY COMMITTEE
Trustee Richardson reported on the Judiciary Committee meeting
held October 10th. Consideration was given to the North
Suburban Mass Transit District's request for a subsidy of NORTH
$1,997.00. The Conm~ittee voted not to support Nortran's re- SUBURBAN MA~
quest. Trustee Richardson, seconded by Trustee Hendricks, TRANSIT
moved for Board condurrence with the Committee's findings
and not support Nortran's request for $1,997.00.

The Judiciary Committee also discussed the recommendation of
DOWNTOWN
REDEVELOPMENT
Preliminary reports from Joan WalKer, President of Property
Consultants, Inc.,apartment and multi-family housing=units
are the clearest develOpment ~pportunity for downt~rn. The
Committee will give consideration at £ts next meeting to'a
combined commission for housing and community development. --
OTHER BUSINESS
An ordinance originating special assessment project - down-
town alley paving - was read for first reading and the Clerk
was requested to place it on the Novembe'r 5th agenda for
final re~ding.
ITEMS TO BE REFERRED
An ordinance establishing procedures to be followed in con-
tractling with the owners of~e~rtain PUD complexes for traffic
control and patrol and enforcement of the traffic ordinances
of the Village of Mount Prospect was referred to the Public
Works Committee.
A resolution authorizing the execution of an agreement with
the regulation of traffic and parking of certain areas of
Huntington Comm6ns was referred to the Public Works Con~aittee.
An ordinance amending the Mount Prospect Traffic Code was
referred to Public Works Committee.
An ordinance establishing a municipal use tax was referred
to tke Finance Committee.
