HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 07-63 03/12/1963 5/3/12/63 RESOLUTION NO. 2 &2; A RESOLUTION OBJECTING TO THE REZONING OF CERTAIN ~ROPERTIES IN COOK COm~TY DOCKETED BY THE ZONING BOARD OF A~PEALS OF COOK COUNTY AS DOCKETS 421, 422 and 423 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois: Section 1. That the Village of Mount Prospect does hereby object to the rezoning of the foll~ing described property from its present classification R-4 to ~_ ~ : The West 150 feet of Lot 1 and the East 154 feet of the West 304 feet of the South 150 feet of Lot 1 (as mea- sured on the South and West lines thereof) in Linneman's Division of the South three quarters of the East half of the Northeast quarter and the West half of the Northeast quarter of Section 23, Township 41 North, Range 11 and the South 477.78 feet of the West half of the Southeast quarter of Section 14, Township 41 North, Range 11 East of the Third Principal Meridian, Cook County, Illinois; to the rezoning of property legall~described as follows from its presen t class ifica tion R-4 to _..J1." ~ : The West 560.50 feet of Lot 1, except the West 150 feet thereof and except the East 154 feet of the West 304 feet of the South 150 feet thereof (as measured on the South and West lines of said Lot) in Linneman's Divi- sion of the South three questers of the East half of the Northeast quarter, and the West half of the North- east quarter of Section 23, Township 41 North, Range 11, and the South 477.78 feet of the West half of the Southeast quarter of Section 14, Township 41 North, Range 11 East of the Third Principal Meridian, Cook County, Illinois; and to the rezoning of property legall~ described as follows from its present classification R-4 to ~-.~ : Lot 1 (except the West 560.5 feet as measured on the South line thereof) in Linneman's Division of the South three quarters of the East half of the Northeast quar- ter, and the West half of the Northeast quarter of Section 23, Township 41 North, Range 11, and the South 477.78 feet of the West half of the Southeast quarter of Section 14, Township 41 North, Range 11 East of the Third Principal Meridian, Cook county, IllinoiS. Section 2. That in the opinion of the President and Board of Trustees such rezoning would be against public health, safety, morals and general welfare in that: (a) It would introduce spot zoning. (b) It would develope the area with high density multi family units when such area does not have the public facilities to accomodate same, namely: proper fire fighting facilities, proper drainage facilities and proper street facilities. (c) That the development of said area with multi family units would create future blight and slum housing. (d) That the surrounding area is zoned R-4, Single Family Residential; that the rezoning of this property to multi family would create a precedent for future multi family zoning, which would intensify all the governmental problems aforementioned. Section 3. That the highest and best use of the property is as zoned, namely, R-4. Section 4. That Edward C. Rofert, Village Attorney of Mount Prospect, is hereby authorized and directed to transmit a copy of this resolution to the County Clerk of Cook County~ the Board of Commissioners and the Zoning Board of Appeals, ana to transmit additional communications which shall further amplify the objection and to do all things necessary which shall be legal and proper to steadfastedly oppose the rezoning sought by the petitioner. Section 5. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
