OF THE
MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
March 30, 1976
Special meeting of the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois called by Mayor Teichert
on Friday, March 26, 1976 pursuant to Chapter 2 "The Board
of Trustees" Section 2.103 "Meetings" as specified in the
Municipal Code of Mount Prospect to consider the 1976-77 an-
nual budget.
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Teichert called the meeting to order at 9:40 P.M.
INVOCATION
Trustee Minton gave the ~invocation.
ROLL CALL

1976-77 ANNUAL BUDGET
Trustee Minton, seconded by Trustee Wattenberg, mo~ed to
establish a $4.00 direct garbage charge per month per
householder.
Joseph Taborek, 114 S. Tamarack, suggested rai~ing Village
real estate taxes as an alternative. Mrs. Melanie Elliott,
312 S. Edward, and Mrs. F. Muellen, a~re~ident in the "New
Town" area of the Village all concurred with a tax increase
proposal. Mrs. Carolyn Krause, 204 S. George, discussed a
library tax levy with the Board. Mr, George Flaherty, 319
S. George St. stated the Village real estate tax is the
highest among neighboring towns and encouraged a garbage
rate fee of approximately $3~00 per month per householder.
Bill Krampert, 323 S. George also discussed the current ta×
rate, Mr. Joe Moore commended the Board on the stabiliza-
tion of the tax rates over the years.

Motion carried.
An ordinance will be prepared for the next regular Board
meeting.
Mayor Teichert charged the Public Works Committee with
consideration of water rates at Huntington Commons and
other multiple-family dwellings south of the Village.
Trustee Rhea, seconded by Trustee Floros, moved the Manager
be directed to reduce personnel 'services.of the proposed
budget of the Village by the amount of $75,000.

Motion failed.

rustee Minton moved the Board decrease the personnel operating
budget by $10,800. There was no second to the motion.
A special meeting of ~he Finance Committee was called for Mon-
day, April 5th to discuss the problems of cash flow and recom-
mendations ~on handling. .---~.
The meeting was adjourned for Executive Session at 11:35 P.M.
for the purpose of police salary negotiations. T~e Mayor
and Board reconvened at 12:37 A. M.

Trustee Floros moved, Trustee Richardson~seconded, the meeting
be adjourned. Time: 12:40 A. M. Unanimous.
