Mayor Teichert called the meeting to order at 8:05 P.M.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF DECEMBER 21, 1976
Trustee Wattenberg, seconded by Trustee Richardson, moved for
approval of the minutes of December 21, 1976 with the following
corrections: Under Approval of Minutes of December 7, 1976-
Resolution 35-76 should read "A Resolution Authorizing the Acquisi-
tion of Certain qeal Estate by Condemnation, if Necessary,
which Re~l Estate is Generally Located on the East Side of Maple
Street and the South Side of Prospect Avenue."

GQMMUNICATIONS & PETITIONS CITIZENS TO BE HEARD

William H. Muhlenfeld, Executive Director - NWMC, presented NWMC
the Conference's annual report.
Mr. Muhlenfeld stated the pas~ year was one of great success for
NWMC. Among the many accomplishmen%s initiated thrOugq NWMC
efforts were: Creation of a join~ risk management/insurance
entit ·
y, Equipment sharing in Public Works; Opposition to the
County employer (head) tax; Joint purchasing and a grant award for
a Boys Crisis Home.
He praised the superb cooperation that he and his staff has re-
ceived from the Elected Officials, Manager, and Departmen:
Hea~s of Mt. Prospec~ since NWMC established headquarters ~n ~he
Village Hall.
Mayor Teichert reiterated the Board's pleasure in the excellent
work the Conference is doing and the Village~s pride in having
the NWMC centered in Mt. Prospect.
MANAGER'S REPORT
The Village Manager requested the proposed MSD s~orm sewer
MSD
reservoir at Busse and Central Rds. be charged to the Public
Works Committee for further investigation. Request granted.
The Manager reported the estimated costs for the spring census
SPRING to be $33,125. He requested Board authorization to sign the
1977 necessary contracts for said census.
CENSUS
Trustee Wattenberg, seconded by Trustee Richardson, moved to
authorize the Village manager to sign the necessary contracts
with the U.S. Bureau of Census, for a special~ census, not to
exceed $33,125.

The Manager announced the Village was denied its Public Works
Employment grant request.
Also reported was the disabled veteran communication program
(radio dispatchers). It began this month and is going smooth.
MAYOR'S REPORT
The Mayor oroclaimed January, 1977 as March of Dimes Birth
Defects Prevention month.
Trustee Richardson, seconded by Trustee Rhea, moved to concur
