COMMUNICATIONS AND PETITIONS CITIZENS TO BE HEARD M .
Mrs. Bush explained that she is involved with trying STRAY ANIMALS
to save stray animals from being put to sleep by the BOARDING PERIOD
animal hospital when not claimed by their owners.
It was stated that the Village presently provides
for the animal to be boarded for 4 days and if not
claimed the animal is destroyed. Mrs. Bush claims
those animals and attempts to locate the owners or
find new homes for them. It was Mrs. Bush's request
that the Village extend the boaCding period from
4 to 7~days, which would give her the necessary
time to locate the owners.
It was the concensus of the Board to authorize the
7 day boarding period, which change is effective
immediately, and authorized an ordinance to be
drafted amending Chapter~20 to reflect 7 days
instead of the existing 4 day boarding period.
