PUBLIC HEARING
~ARING: Mayor Krause called the Public Hearing to order at 8:16 P.M.,
r.~.v¥ noting that the purpose of this Public Hearing is to review
the levy passed by the Village Board for fiscal year 1981-1982,
and is called pursuant to proper legal notice, as required by
law.
The following residents spoke on the levy and/or had

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 21 ENTITLED
"BUILDING CODE" OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
Trustee Farley, seconded by Trustee Floros, moved to
amend the motion to adopt the subject ordinance increasing
building fees by eliminating the increased fee schedule
for home improvements so that the fees presently in existance
would remain in effect for home improvement projects.

of an ordinance in order to take action on the

for the Village to authorize the issuance of $3,500,000 INDUSTRIAL REVEN[
in industrial revenue bonds for the purpose of purchasing BONDS
land within the Kensington Center and constructing a
building, a Resolution authorizing the subject bonds
was presented.

MANAGER'S REPORT
Village Manager Terrance L. Burghard presented a lease LEAS
for Village owned property between Cook County Circuit
Court and the Village for the courtroom, 2nd floor,
Public Safety Building, 112 East Northwest Highway. The
proposed lease would be for a five year period at a rental
fee of $300 per month effective January 1, 1982 through
December 31, 1986.
Trustee Farley, seconded by Trustee Floros, moved to
authorize the Mayor to sign and Clerk to attest her
signature on the lease between the Cook County Circuit
Court and the Village of the use of the Courtroom.

EXPENDITURE
The Village Manager presented a request to authorize
an expenditure for curb and sidewalks on the north

side of Northwest Highway, between Main and

Emerson Streets, explaining that Northwest Highway
~2~tEt~KON is presently undergoing improvement by the State
and the State's plan did not include the curb at that
point, and since the sidewalk is in bad condition, now
would be the time to do that improvement. It was
also stated that time is an element at this point,
since the heavy construction workers are on strike and
work could begin again at any point, quotes had been
solicited from various contractors for the curb and
sidewalk area as stated.
The Manager stated that the low quote received was
from Paolo Construction Company at $6,500 and requested
PAOLO that the bidding procedure be waive for this improvement.

and sidewalks on the north side of Northwest Highway,
between Main and Emerson Streets.

Public Works to enter into a contract with Paolo

not to exceed $6,500.
