COMMUNICATIONS AND PETITIONS - CITIZENS TO BE HEARD
Kenneth Reed, 805 S. Busse Road, requested the Village to "STOP" SIGNS
review the placement of existing "STOP" signs throughout
the Village noting that the original reason for installation
may not be applicable any more.
Bernadine Rechner, President of the River Trails Park District, RIVER TRAILS.
stated that aithough the Annexation Agreement with PARK DISTRICT -
Rauenhorst Corporation offered the ].'ogging path to the ~.Rauenhorst Corp.
River Trails Park District, it was the decision of that Board
to refuse the dedication.

Village Manager Burghard presented an ordinance relative BUFFER STRIP
to the Mack Cadinae Buffer Strip for second reading.

to waive the rule requiring two readings of an ordinance
relative to Special Service Area Number Two

The Village Manager presented a resolution authorizing the
MSD PERMIT._L ~
~-NTRAL~BussE. execution of a permit with the MSD, which resolution would
. allow the Lions Club to conduct their 1980 Village Fair at
DETENTION BASIN the new Central/Busse Detention basin site.
Trustee Wattenberg, seconded by Trustee Richardson,

Mr. Burghard presented the results of various bids. BID RESULTS~
Trustee Richardson, seconded by Trustee Farley, moved FIRE DEPT. CLOTHI~N~
to concur with the recommendation of the administration and KALE UNIFORM~
accept the Iow bid submitted by Kale Uniforms of Chicago, Inc.
for a total of $24,300.00. (List of bid results attached to
these minutes. )

Arrow Road Construction in the amount of $346,418.43
for the 1980 MFT Resurfacing Program.

Mr. Burghard noted that due to the fact that the Iow bid
submitted for the resurfacing program was below the
budgeted amount, additional streets, would be eligible
for resurfacing. A list would be drafted by the Engineer
and presented to the Board at a future date.

1980-81 purchase of liquid chlorine:

concur with the recommendation of the administration
and accept the Iow bid submitted by Alexander Chemicals

The Village Manager anhounced that three police officers
had tendered their resignations to take employment in
another northwest suburban Police Department and that
the Fire and Police Commission were in the process of
recruiting replacements.
M.P. PARK DISTRICT MAYOR'S REPORT
Mayor Krause presented a Resolution honoring the Mount
Prospect Park District on their 25th Anniversary.

to authorize an expenditure of $100.00 to the Mount Prospect
Park District as a patron member of that District.

Trustee Floros noted that at the direction of the F, oard, the
administration was able to secure a cash donation of $42,0~4
from the petitioner, in accordance with the Development Code.

Trustee Floros noted that this case was continued in 717 N. Wille
Committee for one more month.

Trustee Floros, seconded by Trustee Murauskls, moved 1006 Grace Drive
to concur with the recommendation of the Zoning Board of
Appeals and the Building Committee to grant the requested
variation which would allow a chimney to project an
additional one foot into the required rear yard.

Trustee Flores presented the recommendation of the Building
Committee to grant the requested zoning and variation in
the form of a planned unit development ~or the subject ease,
which case had been omitted from the printed agenda.

bring an item to the floor not listed on the agenda.

Mr. Berkey, attorney for the petitioner, presented the proposed
landse~an for the development.
Bernadine Rechner, President of the River Trails Park District,
requested the/Board to secure a cash donation from the
petitioner for ' that Park District.
Mr. Fred Schierhorn, 1517 Park Drive, recommended
approval of the proposed development.
Trustee Flores, seconded by Trustee Farley, moved to concur
with the recommendation of the Zoning Board of Appeals
and the Building Committee to grant the requested rezoning
from R-1 to R-4 in the subject case.

FIRE AND POLICE COMMITTEE
~AMEND CH. 17 - Trustee Murauskis presented an Ordinance Amending Chapter 17
Ve___hicl-~-Sticke~ of the Village of'Mount Prospect Municipal Code, which would
~ change the due date for purchasing and displaying Village
vehicles stickers, for first reading. This ordinance will be
presented June 17th for second reading.
LEGISLATIVE/JUDICIARY COMMITTEE
Trustee Richardson presented a status report on the
Downtown Rehabilitation Loan Program.
_~FARMERS MARKETS Trustee Richardson also presented an ordinance permitting
Farmers Markets for consideration.
Trustee Richardson, seconded by Trustee Farley, moved to
waive the rule requiring two readings of an ordinance
relative to the Farmers Markets.

PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY COMMITTEE
Trustee Wattenberg presented An Ordinance Amending Article IV AMEND CH.
of Chapter 26 of the Municipal Code of the Village of
Mount Prospect (relative to damaging Village owned property)
for ~rst reading and will be presented June 17th for second reading.
Trustee Wattenberg, ~seconded by Trustee Richardson, moved AMEND TRAFFIC
to concur with the recommendation of the Public Health & CODE - CH. 18
Safety Committee to amend the Traffic Code by prohibiting Wes_tgate Ro~d &
parking on Westgate Road 200 feet north of Central Road on B~usse Avenue_~,
both sides of Westgate Road and to reduce the speed limit on
Busse Avenue between Main Street and Mount Prospect Road
from SO to 25 MPH.
