COMMUNICATIONS AND PETITIONS - CITIZENS TO BE HEARD
Bernie Rechner, President of the River Trails Park
District, requested the Board consider using the
recently acquired parcel of land within the Kensington
Center development as open space for recreational
purposes. It was stated that the Village would
probably place that lot on the market for sale.
MAYOR'S REPORT
Mayor Krause presenting a Certificate of Appreciation
to Esther Zadiek for her contribution to the fire
safety education program at St. Pauls School.

AMEND CH. lg An Ordinance was presented that would amend
(TRAFFIC CODE) the Traffic Code providing for a 2-way STOP
on Maple St. at Isabella St.; 2 hour parking
on the west side of William between Lincoln
and Prospect Aveune; and a 5-ton load limit
on Isabella between Rand and Main.

Shopping Center was presented for first reading
and will be presented January 19th for second
reading.
In accordance with the recently adopted
AUTOMOBILF TA× State Legislation the next two ordinances

The Board reviewed a request for a variation
from the Sign Code to permit a free standing
sign 6½' x 8½' at the northwest corner of
Northwest Highway and Main Street.
Trustee Arthur, seconded by Trustee Wattenberg,
moved to concur with the recommendation of the
Zoning Board of Appeals and grant the requested
variation.

The Board reviewed a request for the subject
property to be re-zoned from B-3 to B-4, for
the purpose of establishing an amusement arcade.

This case involves a request for a variation
from the Sign Code to permit a second sign on
the wall of the building at Rand Road &
Business Center Drive.
Trustee Floros, seconded by Trustee Wattenberg,
moved to concur with the recommendation of the
Zoning Board of Appeals and grant the requested
variation.

It was noted that staff will prepare amendments
to the Sign Code for future review by the Village
Board.
ZBA 29-A-81 ZBA 29-A-81, Text Amendment
~ The subject case proposes an amendment to
Chapter 21, Fences, to permit six foot fences
along the rear lot line when such lot line abuts
an arterial road.
Trustee Arthur, seconded by Trustee Wattenberg,
moved to concur with the recommendation of the
Zoning Board of Appeals and grant the requested
amendment to Chapter 21.

~ The prosposed amendment to Chapter 14 would
permit service stations to operate as a special
use in B-3 District. The existing Code provides
for service stations in B-4 Districts.
Trustee Arthur, seconded by Trustee Wattenberg,
moved to concur with the recommendation of the
Zoning Board of Appeals and grant the requested
variation to Chapter 14 (Zoning Ordinance).

ZBA 31-A-81, Text Amendment ~BA 3I-A-81
This case proposes an amendment to Chapter 14, AMEND CH. 14
Zoning Ordinance, to establish provisions for
residential care homes and setting forth guide-
lines for such a use.
Due to the fact that certain information reached
the Village Board recently, additional time was
needed to review all the data. Discussion on
this case was continued to the January 19th Board
meeting.
Mayor Krause declared a recess at this point,
9:55 P.M.
Mayor Krause re-convened the meeting at 10:05 P.M.

MANAGER'S REPORT

for passage of Resolution 1-82. MINIMUM 1~000 HOURS

Trustee Floros, seconded by Trustee Murauskis,
BEAUTIFICATION LEASE
moved to authorize the administration to sign the
extension of the beautification lease with the
Chicago Northwestern Transportation Company, as
set forth in the letter dated December 23, 1981,
received from the Chicago and Northwestern
Transportation Company (CNW reference #76278).

Village Manager Burghard presented a proposal from S~ WITTE
AUDITOR-S - 82-83
Lester Witte Company, being the auditors for the
Village for the past 3 years, which letter set
forth their proposal for conducting the 1982-83
audit for the Village.
Trustee Floros, seconded by Trustee Murauskis,
moved to retain Lester Witte Company to conduct
the Village's audit for 1982-83 at a cost not to
exceed $17,000.

as conducted by the State of Illinois, Department
of Transportation, for the year 1980.

moved to acknowledge receipt of the MFT Audit
for 1980.

~FT RESOLUTION The Village Manager presented an MFT Resolution
WESTGATE ROAD appropriating funds for the final payment for
the Westgate Road improvement.
