COMMUNICATIONS AND PETITIONS CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ~UN FOR THE
Joe Clancy requested the Village to approve the necessary MONEY - M.P.
steps involved with conducting the 2nd Annual 'Run for STATE BANK
the Money' sponsored by the Mount Prospect State Bank.
The run will benefit Mount Prospect United Way and will
be held on September 25, 1983.
Trustee Farley, seconded by Trustee Arthur moved to
92 authorize the administration to~ render assisstance
necessary to conduct the 2nd Annual 'Run for the Money'
to be held on September 25, 1983.

THOMAS PEKRAS MAYOR'S REPORT - APPOINTMENTS
The name of Thomas Pekras, 2924 Briarwood Drive West,
Arlington Heights, I1 60005, 439-1454, was submitted
by Mayor Krause to fill the vacancy on the Finance
Commission caused by the resignation of Jan Coventry.
Leo Floros, seconded by Trustee Wattenberg, moved to
appoint Thomas Pekras, term to expire April, 1985.

OLD BUSINESS
ZBA 21-V-83 ZBA 21-V-83, Old Carriage House Restaurant
This case deals with requests for variations from the off-
20 WEST street parking requirement and for a reduced yard area.
NORTHWEST HWY
An ~d~nance was presented for first reading that would
grant variations for certain property commonly known as
the Old Carriage Restaurant at 20 West Northwest Highway,
in the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois
Robert Meersmen, owner of the property at 16 West
Northwest Highway spoke in opposition to the proposal
based on location of refuse, lack of easement to refuse
container and Mr. Meersmen stated that there is indeed
a parking problem in that general location. Phyllis __
Stark, owner of property adjacent to the restaurant,
19 West Busse voiced her opinion in agreement with Mr.
Meersmen.
Thi~ Ordinance will be presented, for second reading August
2, 1983.
ZBA-22-A-83 ZBA 22-A-83, Schimming Oil, 302 E. Northwest Highway
An ordinance was presented for first reading that
would ammend Chapter 14 entitled "Zoning" of the Village
Code of M~unt P~ospect, Illinois regarding the addition
of an ambulance service as a special use in the B-3
business retail and service district. This ordinance
amends the text of the B-3 district classification
to specify 'Ambulance Service' permitted as a special use.
Trustee Van Geem, seconded by Trustee Wat%enberg moved
to waive the rule requiring two readings of an ordinance
in order to take action on the subject ordinance.

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 14 ENTITLED "ZONING"
OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS
REGARDING THE ADDITION OF AN AMBULANCE SERVICE
AS A SPECIAL USE IN THE B-3 BUSINESS RETAIL AND
SERVICE DISTRICT

An ordinance :.:as presented for first reading approving 302 E. North~
and authorizing a special use to allow an arabulance service Highway
on certain property com~monly khown as the Schi~ning Oil Co.
Inc., located in the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois.
This ordinance grants a special use to the subject property
for the operation of an ambulance service in the B-3 district.
Trustee Flores, seconded by Trustee Arthur moved to waive
the rule requiring two readings of an ordinance in order
to take action on the subject ordinance.

ZBA-23-SU-83 ZBA-23-SU-83, 1002 S. Busse Road
1C02 S. BUSSE This case deals with a request for special use
ROAD in order to operate an automobile service station
with a canopy, which canopy intensifies the use
of the property. The Zoning Board of Appeals
recommended denial o~ the request for a canopy.
Mr. Lewison, attorney for the petitioner, ~&B Mini
Mart Corporation stated that the Corporation was
in progress of being sold. The necessary plans
as required by the Zoning Board of Appeals were
being prepared.
Trustee Floros, seconded by Trustee Arthur moved
to remand this case~ZBA-23-SU-83) back'_to the
Zoning Board.

1816 Sitka Lane This request for a variation to permit a 5 car
attached garage and a reduced side yard has been
continued to the August 16th village Board meeting~
at the request of the petitioner.
