COMMUNICATIONS AND PETITIONS - CITIZENS TO BE HEARD
None.
MAYOR'S REPORT
PROCLAMATION: Mayor Krause proclaimed November 27, 1984 as Drug
DRUG & ALCOHOL and Alcohol Awareness Day and strongly supports the
AWARENESS DAY programs offered by School District 214 to make our
youth and parents fully aware of the dangers involved
with the use of drugs and alcohol.
LIQUOR LICENSE: A request had been received from the new owners of
ROMANCE RESTAURANT Romance Restaurant, 1234 N. River Road, to assume
CHANGE IN OWNERSHIP the.existing Class "R" liquor license. It was noted
that Mr. Giuseppe Campo, Secretary for the G & A --
Restaurant Corporation proposes some menu changes
but intends to keep the establishment as a family-
style restaurant.
It was the opinion of the Village Board that the
petitioner met the requirements for the Class "R"
liquor license.
AMEND ARTICLE 1 An Ordinance was presented for first reading that
OF CHAPTER 13 OF adopts into our local Code the requirement for all
VILLAGE CODE liquor license holders to obtain a liquor license from
the State of Illinois.
WAIVE RULES Trustee Arthur, seconded by Trustee Murauskis, moved
to waive the rule requiring two readings of an ordinance
in order to take action on this subject matter.

annexes the subject property(2101 S. Busse Road)
to the Village of Mount Prospect.

Second reading of an Ordinance was presented that REZONE
re-zones the property at 2101 S. Busse Road from R-X 2101 S. BUSSE ]
(zoning classification automatically acquired as a

special use necessary in order to operate an existing ARC DISPOSAL

VARIATIONS A second reading was presented that would grant variations
ARC DISPOSAL from the side yard setback requirements; permit a lot size
less than 4 acres, allow more than 80% coverage on the lot;
permit a building height in excess of the 15 feet allowed;
and reduce the number of parking spaces from 158 to 56.

309 N. WILLIAM A request for variation to permit a fence in tke
STREET front yard and recognize an existing 5 foot side
yard instead of 10 foot was submitted. The petitioner
requested that the two readings be waived.

to waive the rule requiring two readings of an ordinance
in order to take action on the proposed ordinance.

17 S. WA PELLA A Ordinance was presented for first reading that
grants a variation for a 2 foot side yard instead
of the required 5 feet in order to construct a garage.
Second reading of this Ordinance will be presented at
the December 4th Board meeting.
SEE GWUN & See Gwun and Sunset Traffic Study
SUNSET TRAFFIC Pam Lever, a resident of Mount Prospect requested that
STUDY a 4-way STOP sign at See Gwun and Sunset be posted. She
also requested that the speed limit be reduced from the
25 mph to a lower one.
Trustee Farley recommended that a additional speed zone
sign be posted and have police monitor this area for a
given amount of time.
Trustee Van Geem recommended that thev replant the
speed zone sign already there nearer the intersection.
It was the opinion of the Board to replant the speed
zone sign pursuant to Trustee Van Geem's recommendation.

NEW BUSINESS ' NEW BUSINESS
Mayor Krause called a public hearing to order at ANNEXATION:
8:30 P.M. The purpose of this public hearing was OPUS
called pursuant to proper legal notice, to consider
the request from OPUS to annex approximately 36 acres.
into the Kensington Center for Business development in
the Village of Mount Prospect.
There was no participation from the audience on any
item relative to this proposed annexation of OPUS.
The public hearing was closed at 8:32.
Items referring to the annexation of OPUS will be postponed
to the end of the meeting inlorder for the petitioner t~
request to annex subject property to the Village of
Mount Prospect.
An Ordinance was p~esented for first reading that HATLEN AVENUE
places 2 hour parking restrictions on the north and PARKING
south sides of Hatlen between Central Road and Grindel
Drive, one block south of Central.
Mr. George Stolzman, a resident at 1 Hatlen Avenue requested
that the Trustees waive the required two readings of an
Ordinance in order that action could be taken on it immediately.
Trustee Wattenberg, seconded by Trustee Farley, moved to
waive the rule requiring two readings of an Ordinance WAIVE RULES
in order to take action.

VILLAGE MANAGER'S REPORT
The Village Manager, Terrance L. Burghard presented BID RESULTS
the bid results on the following items.
Sealed bids were opened on November 9, 1984, for the
proposed purchase of a truck with an aerial lift unit
mounted on a platform body. The unit will be used for
regular parkway tree maintenance, removals and maint-
enance 0f the Village owned street lights.
Mr. Burghard recommended that we allow one of the RUNNION EQUIP.£
bidders, Runnion Equipment Company to withdraw their BID WITHDRAW
bid due to an error in their tabulation
Trustee Arthur, seconded by Trustee Floros, moved to
authorize Runnion Equipment Company to withdraw its
bid for the aerial lift because of an error in their
tabulation.

AERIAL LIFT The Village Manager recommended acceptance of the
UNIT lowest net~bid of $70,063.50 as submitted by Teco, Inc.
and an additional $807.00 for the shorter delivery
time for a total cost of $70,870.50 for the truck and
mounted aerial lift unit. On page 114 of the Village
Budget, there is $75,000 allowcated for this expenditure.
Bid results are attached to the minutes.
TECO, INC. Trustee Arthur, seconded by Trustee Wattenberg, moved
to accept the low bid submitted by Teco, Inc. not to
exceed an amount of $70,870.50.

INTERNAL SEWER Bids were received for the purchase of an internal sewer
TV INSPECTION TV inspection system. This system will replace the
SYSTEM Village's existing TV equipment that was purchased
back in 1973 and will be installed in the same 1973 Chevrot~
Step-Van.
