A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACT BETWEEN THE
VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT AND THE RURAL FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT.

Section 1. That the Village President and Village Clerk are hereby
authorized and empowered to sign a fire protection agreement between the
Village of Mount Prospect and the Mount Prospect Rural Fire Protection Dis-
trict, a copy of which agreement is marked Exhibit "1" attached hereto and
made a part of this resolution as if fully set forth.
Section 2. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval according to law.

ARTICLES OF AGREEMENT
ARTICLES OF AGREEMENT made and entered into this 7th day of July, 1964
by and between the Mount Prospect Rural Fire Protection District, a Municipal
Corporation, Cook County, Illinois, (hereinafter referred to as "said Dis-
trict") and the Village of Mount Prospect, a Municipal Corporation, Mount
Prospect, Illinois, (hereinafter referred to as "said Village"); and
WHEREAS, the said District is a municipal corporation organized under the
statutes of the State of Illinois for the purpose of prevention and control
of fires in an area shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect is a municipal corporation organ-
ized under the statutes of the State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, said District and the Village are desirous of entering into a
contract for the furnishing of fire fighting and fire prevention services to
the territory outlined in red on Exhibit "A" attached, which territory con-
stitutes the whole of the area to be serviced by said district. Said contract
to cover a period commencing July 1, 1964 and ending December 31. 1964.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED AND UNDERSTOOD by and between the parties
hereto:
ARTICLE I. That for the period beginning July 1, 1964 and exp~r~ng on
midnight, December 31. 1964. the Village shall furnish fire fighting and fire
protection services by Paid on Call and Regular firemen employed by the
Village, as the Fire Chief of the Village may determine, to said District for
the area outlined in red on Exhibit "A" attached (which territory constitutes
the whole territory served by said District).
ARTICLE II. That for the period of time during which this contract shall
be in full force and effect said District agrees to pay said Village for any
and all fire fighting and fire protection services the sum of Five Thousand
Dollars ($5,000) paid herewith, receipt of which is acknowledged.
ARTICLE III. The District agrees that it will cause the dis-connection
of any territory within said District which is also a part of the Village as
of date hereof provided, however, that nothing contained herein shall require
the District to disconnect any territory which would leave any other area,
presently within the District, without fire protection. Said disconnection
to be accomplished prior to December 31, 1964.
II ARTICLE IV. That the Fire Chief of the Village of Mount

ARTICLE V. The Fire Chief designated by said Village shall immediately
upon arriving at the scene of any alarm or emergency, or such other officers
as may be designated by said Village or by said Fire Chief from time to time,
have the sole and exclusive responsibility and authority to direct and control
any and all fire fighting and/or fire prevention activities and emergency
operations at such scene or scenes. and further, that any and all officers
and/or firemen appointed by said District shall be subject to the orders of
I the Fire Chief designated by said Village.

ARTICLE VI. That all fire fighting and fire prevention activities car-
ried on under the provisions of these Articles shall be under and in accord-
ance with the regulations and ordinances of said Village.
ARTICLE VII. That all expenses of main~ning equipment, apparatus,
salaries, insurance premiums, and any and all other items of expense connected
with the services to be performed by said Village under this agreement shall
be at the Village's expense and that the only expense falling upon said Dis-
trict should be the payments set forth in Article II.
ARTICLE VIII. That all equipment presently owned or possessed by said
District, or any and all equipment to be acquired by said District, shall be
leased to the Village for the sum of $1.00 for the period of this contract.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have caused these Articles to be executed
by their respective officers and caused their corporate seals to be affixed
hereunto.
These Articles have been executed on behalf of the said Village pursuant
to adoption thereof by a resolution of the Board of Trustees of said Village
on the 7th day of July, A.D., 1964.
