A RESOLUTION OBJECTING TO 'mE REZONING OF
PROPERTY IN ELK GROVE Tm-n;SIIIP FROM R-4 SINGLE

WlffiREAS, the Petitioner, in Zoning Case docketed as 783
by the Cook County Board of Appeals, has sought to rezone trom
R-4 single famil,. residence to R-~ multi-tamily residence 01'
approximately 80416 acres 01' property on the west side 01'
Busse Road, 1740 teet south 01' Algonquin Road in Elk Grove
Township, tor the purpose of erecting thereon extremely modest
multi-family unitsl and
WDERBAS, the village Ifmits 01' the Village 01' Mount
Prospect are within one and one-half miles 01' the property in
question and it has a right tUlder the statutes to file formal
objections to the rezoning 01' said property, legally described

The South 10 acres, excepttng the West 210 teet thereOf,
of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter 01'
Section 22, Township 41 North, Range 11, East 01' the
Third Principal J.ferid1an, in Cook County, Illinois
NOt;, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board
01' Trustees of the Village 01' Mount Prospect, Cook County,
Illinois:
Section 1. That the Village 01' Mount Prospect does by
these present. .0bJect to the rezoning requested by the petitioner
as set forth above, on the following grounds:
A - The highest and best use of the property is not tar
mu1ti-tamily but either for single family residence
or in the near futUl'e tor light manufacturing. The
County Board is urged to consider rezoning the
property to the light manutacttJ1'llng olass1ticationo
B - The property east of the property in question is
developed with manufaoturing uses which characteristics
extends across Busse Road to the west and consequently
the better use for the property in question"ultimately
is light manutactur1ng rather than s1ngle family or
multi-family.

C - The rezoning of the property in question to light
manufacturing will broaden the tax base of the areao
It it 1s developed with multi-family units the
development 01' the property would not be beneficial
to the area because 01' its pro:x1m1 ty to the airport,
to tank farms and construction company properties.
Section 2. The Village ot MOunt Prospect respectfully ,
requests not only that the application be denied but the c01.1;P-ty
Zoning Board of Appeals 1nit1ate changes so as to zone the /
property in question herein a8 well as the abutt1ng prope'rty to
the M-l Restricted Manufacturing District. /
