RESOLUTION OPPOSING PROPOSED REZONING IN COOK
COUNTY ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS DOCKET NO. 962
WHEREAS, There is presently pending before the Zoning
Board of Appeals of Cook County, Illinois, an application for
reclassification of certain property containing approximately
4.95 acres, located in Elk Grove Township on the west side of
Busse Road approximately 1,000 feet south of Algonquin Road
from the R-4 District to the R-5 District; and
WHEREAS, said proposal has been docketed and heard as
Docket No. 962 before the Zoning Board of Appeals of Cook
County, Illinois; and

\mEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospe~tappeared at a
public hearing on the said Docket No. 962 on November 15, 1965,
and then and there stated its opposition to the proposed amend-
ment and relcassification; and
~mEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Mount Prospect have considered the said application
for a rezoning and a report of the testimony and exhibits adduced
in support thereof, and have determined that the rezoning of the
said property from the R-4 District to the R-5 District under the
Zoning Ordinance of Cook County would be highly detrimental to
the Village of Mount Prospect and the citizens of Cook County,
and would impede the normal and orderly development of the por-
tion of the unincorporated area of Cook County in which the sub-
ject property of such application is located; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Mount Prospect are of the opinion that the pIDperty
located in Section 22, Township 41 North, Range 11 East of the
Third Principal Meridian which 1s bounded by Busse Road on the

east, the Northwest Tollway on the south, the Commonwealth
Edison right of way on the west, and the corporate limits of
the Village of Mount Prospect on the north, should be re-ex-
amined and if reclassified, should be reclassified as a 'Nhole
rather than on a piece-by-piece basis; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Mount Prospect are of the opinion that additional
ad hoc decisions with respect to the rezoning of property in
the area heretofore mentioned would be unwise planning and will
contribute to the deterioration of this area; and
~mEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Mount Prospect are of the opinion that the property
which is the subject of Docket No. 962 is an unsuitable and
inhospitable site for new apartments; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Mount Prospect are of the opinion that all of the
property hereinabove mentioned, including the subject property,
should be reclassifiedm the M-1 Industrial District under the
Zoning Ordinance of the County of Cook; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect lies within
1-1/2 miles of the subject property and is the municipality
with its limits nearest adjacent to the subject property, to-wit:
the western boundary of the property which is the subject of
Docket No. 962 abuts upon the corporate limits of the Village of
Mount Prospect; and
~mEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Mount Prospect desire to exercise the authority to
file a formal objection conferred upon them by Section 3158 of
Chapter 34 of the Illinois Revised Statutes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND

BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That the Village of Mount Prospect
does hereby oppose the granting of the application for rezoning
from the R-4 to the R-5 District under the Zoning Ordinance of
the County of Cook sought by Maurice Schlesinger as applicant,
and Pauline Van Oepen as landowner, of certain property located
in Elk Grove Township, hereinabove described, and docketed as
Docket No. 962 before the Zoning Board of Appeals of Cook
County, Illinois.
SECTION TWO: That immediately upon the publication
and approval of this Resolution, the Village Clerk of the
Village of Mount Prospect be, and he is hereby, authorized and
directed to transmit certified copies of this Resolution to the
County Clerk of Cook County, to the Secretary of the Zoning
Board of Appeal of Cook County, and the President of the Board
of Commissioners of Cook County.
SECTION THREE: This Resolution shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner
provided by law.
