RESOLUTION NO. 12-66
A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING CERTAIN AREAS. AS FIRE LANES
WHEREAS, The Chief of the Bureau of Fire Prevention has
m4de certain inspections of areas that have at given times a large
number of vehicles parked in or near buildings o~ 8truct~res open to
the public; and
WHEREAS, the result of the large number of parked vehicles,
the ingr~ss and egress of fire fighting equipment to or from any
building, structure or fire hydrant jr.J greatly impaired, and
WHEREAS, this condition causes a dangerous or hazardous
cOndition on said premises, and
WHEREAS, the Chief of the Bureau of Fire Prevention has
the authority under Section 24.410 of the Municipal Code of 1957,
as amended, to designate any street, alley. driveway, roadway, ac-
cessway, or easement of access located whoily on or partly on or
over private property as a "fire lane" and
WHEREAS, the Chief of the Bureau of Fire Prevention has
determined that the following should be designated as "fire lanes".
a) The two (2) lane drive that is immediately adjacent to the
building and sidewalk around the entire perimeter of the
Randhurst Building except the designated "Customer pick-
up" area;
b) The two-lane drive that is immediately adjacent to the build-
ing and sidewalk on the front side of the building located
at the Mount Prospect Plaza. except the designated "Customer
pick-up" area. and
c) The two-lane drive that is immediately adjacent to the front
of the building located at the Striking Lanes Bowling Alley; and
d) The two-lane drive that is immediately adjacent to the front
of building located at the Thunderbird Bowl; and
e) The two lane d~ive that is immediately adjacent to the building
arid sidewalk on the front side of the building located at the
National Shopping Center, except the designated "Custom
pick-up area"; and
f) The one lane that is immediately adjacent to the building and
sidewalk on the front side of the building located at the
Central Plaza; and
g) The two lane drive that is immediately adjacent to the building
and sidewalk on the front side of the building known as the
Randhurst Cinema; and
h) The two lane drive that is immediately adjacent to the build-
ing and sidewalk on the front side of the building known as
the Mount Prospect Cinema; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Mount Prospect have reviewed the aforesaid and ar8 of the opinion that
same is for the best interest of the Village.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS:

SECTION ONE: That the following are hereby designated as
"fire lanes" pursuant to Section 24.410 of the Mount Prospect Mun-
icipal Code of 1957, as, amended, upon recommendation of the Chief
of the Bureau of Fire Prevention:
a) The two (2) lane drive that is immediately adjacent to the
building and sidewalk around the entire perimeter of the
Randhurst building except the designated "Customer pick-
up" area;
b) The two-lane d~ive that is immediately adjacent to the build-
ing and sidewalk on the front side of the building located
at the Mount Pr>ospect Plaza, except the designated "Customer
pick-up" area, and
c) The two-lane,d~ive that is immediately adjacent to the front
of the building located at the Striking Lanes Bowling Alley; and
d) The two-lane drive that is immediately adjacent to the front
of building located at the Thunderbird BoV"l; and
e) The two lane drive that is immediately adjacent to the building
and sidewalk on the front side of the building located at the

f) The one lane that is immediately adjacent to the building and

g) The two lane drive that is immediately adjacent to the building
and sidewalk on the front side of the building known as the

h) The two lane drive that is immediately adjacent to the build-
ing and sidewalk on the front side of the building known as
the Mount Prospect Cinema;
SECTION !WOt This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and afte~ its passage, approval, and publication in the manner
provided by law.
