HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 23-66 05/03/1966 ...--.. .~ - '\ ~ Resolution No. 23-66 RESOLUTION OPPOSING PROPOSED REZONING IN COOK COUNTY DOCKET NO. 1032 HHEREAS, there is presently pending before the Zoning Board or Appeals of Cook County, Illinois, an application for reclassification of certain property containinc approximately 32 acres located in \fueelinr, Township on the south side of Kirchhoff Road'approximately 186 feet west of Ken~icott Avenue (if extended) from the R-~ General Re~idence District to the R-6 General Residence District; and WHEREAS, said proposal has been docketed and heard as Docket No. 1032 before the Zonine Board of Appeals of Cook County, Illinois; and WHEREAS, the Villar.e of Mount Prospect appeared at a public hearin? on the said Docket No. 1032 on April 15, 1966, and then and there stated its op- position to the proposed amendment and reclassification; and WHEREAS, the President apd Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect have considered the said application for a rezoning and a report of the testimony and exhibits adduced in support thereof, and have determined that the rezoning of the ~aid property from the R-4 Distri~t to the R-6 District under the Zoning Ordinance of Cook County would be hir.hly detrimental to the Village of Mount Prospect and the citizens of Cook County and would impede the normal and orderly development of the portion of the unincorporated area or Cook County in which the subject property of such application is located; anl~ WHEREAS, the President and Board Qf Trustees of the Villaee of Hount Prospect are of the opinion' that the 'proposed use of the subject property for apartment buildings and the ~roposed heigh~ of such structure would have a substantially adverse effect upon the use and enjoyment and the value of res- idential properties in the vicinity of the subject property; and WHEREAS, the Villar,e of Mount Prospect lies within one and one-half miles of the subject property an4-' I , ( ""' ..... ) .. -2- WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of r10unt Prospect desire to exercise the authority to file a formal objection conferred upon them by Section 3158 of Chapter 34 of the Illinois Revised Statutes. NOH, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE: That the Village of Mount Prospect does hereby oppose the grantin~ of the application for rezoning from the R-4 General Residence District to the R-6 General Service District under the Zoning Ordinance of Cook County soupht by Johanna Gosh, as applicant, and La Salle National Bank of Chicago, as Trustee under Trust No. 34172, as landowners of certain property located in \1heeling Township, hereinabove described, docketed as Docket No. 1032 before the Zoning Board of Appeals of Cook County, Illinois. SECTION THO: That. immediately upon the publication and approval of this Resolution; the Village Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to transmit certified copies of this Resolution to the County Clerk of Cook County, to the Secretary of the Zoning Board of Appeals of Cook County, and the President of the Board of Commissioners of Cook County. SECTION THREE: This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law. A YES: 7 NAYS: 0 PASSED this 3 day of May day of May , 1966.
