"-'" RESOLUTION NO. .3l- - " A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A REFERENIlJM AND ESTABLISHING THE PRECINCTS AND roLLING PLACES WHEREAS, on July 19, 1966, at the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, certain petitions were presented to the Village Clerk; and WHEREAS, said petitions called for a referendum to be held within the Village of Mount Prospect to determine if the Village of Mount Prospect incorporate as a city under the general law; and '!"'~,.ti.\:,~ WHEREAS, the Village Clerk has determined that the number of petitioners is in excess of one-eighth of the electors of the Village that voted at the last preceding IID.lnicipal election; and WHEREAS, said petitions were presented pursuant to Chapter 24, Section 2-~.1(Illinois Revised Statutes 1965), which Section requires the corporate authorities to submit this question to a vote of the electors of said Village within sixty (60) days from the date of filing of such petition; and WHEREAS, the Village Clerk has reviewed and determined t.he logical divisions of the Village for the purposes of conducting an efficient and orderly referendum; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT .AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF IDUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE: That there shall be a referendum for '\he purpose of deciding if the Village of Mount Prospect shall incorporate as a city under the general law. SECTION TWO: That the Village Presiden~ shall give notice of the date of said referendum as prescribed in Chapter 24, Section 2-2-2 (Illinois Revised Statutes 1965). SECTION THREE: That the precincts and polling places for said referendum shall be: PRECINCT 1: Polling Place: Village Hall 112 E. Northwest Highway Mount Prospect, Illinois which includes that part of Mount Prospect south of Central Road, west of Mount Prospect Road and ~orth of Northwest Highway. PRECINCT 2: Polling Place: Lions Park Fieldhouse 411 South Maple Street Mount Prospect, Illinois which includes that part of Mount Prospect south of Northwest Highway, west of the eastem boundary of the Village, north of Weller Creek, and east of Emerson street and that portion of Mount Prospect lying west of Emerson, north of Weller Creek, east of 83, and south of Lincoln$treet. c !~ ~. mEcDl'CT 3: P>illng Placet' SUtlset Park Sehool 601 . PRECINCT 5: Polling Place: Mount Prospect Country Club West Shabonee Trail Mount Prospect, Illinois which includes that part of Mount Prospect lying south of Lincoln Street, west of Highway 83, north of Lotin~le~ l3onl~vEl.1"d and east of Busse Road. PRECINcr 6a Polling Place: Westbrook School 105 South Busse Road Mount Prospect, Illinois which includes that part of Mount Prospect lying south of Central Road, west of WeGo Trail, north of Lincoln Street and east of Meier Road. PRECINCT 7: Polling Place: st. Raymond's School 300 South EJ.znhu.rst Avenue Mount Prospect, Illinois which includes that part. of Mount Prospe'ltt lying south of Central Road and Prospect Avenue, west of Emerson Street, north of Lincoln Street, east of WeGo Trail. PRECINCT 10: Polling Place: Fairview School Fairview and Gregory Streets Mount Prospect, Illinois which includes that part of Mount Prospect lying south of Kensington Road, west of Pine Street, nurth of Isabella Street, and bounded on the west by the Village limits. PRECINCT 11: Polling Place: Euclid Avenue School 1211 Wheeling Road Mount Prospect, Illinois which includes that part of Mount Prospect lying north of Kensington Road and bcunded by the Village limits of Mount Prospect on the east, north and west, and that portion of Mount Prospect lying south of Kensington Road, east of Rand Road, north of Gregory Street, and bounded on the east by the Village limits_ PRECINCT 12: Polling Place: Robert Frost School 1)08 Cypress nti.. Mount Prospect, Illinois which includes that part of Mount Prospect lying south of Golf Road and west of Linneman Road, bounded on the west and south of the Village limits and those portions of the Village of Mount Prospect lying east of Linneman Road and south of Church Road. SECTION FOUR: The precincts or voting districts for such referendum and the polling places shall be those designated in the preceding section. SECTION FIVE: The judges of referendum shall be those as shall be hereafter designated by the President and Board of Trustees to serve as referendum officials. SECTION SIX: The ballot to be used at such referendum shall be in the form prescribed by statute and it shall be the duty of the Village Clerk to see to the preparation of the official ballots for the referendum, and to cause a sample of such ballot to be published prior to the day of referendum in a newspaper of general circulation published in the Village, and to provide the necessary referendum supplies for each voting district or precinct. SECTION SEVEN: Said referendum and all matters pertaining thereto shall be conducted in the manner prescribed by statutes for the conduct of a referendum for the incurpc,ration of a village as a city under the general law. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by law.
