HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 34-66 09/20/1966 c .. RESOLUTION NO. .. . 34-66 A RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE VOTES CAST AT THE SPECIAL REFERENDUM HELD ON SEPTEMBER 13, 1966, AND DECLARING THE RESULTS THEREOF. WHEREAS, a special referendum was held in and for the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois on Tuesday, Sept~hber 13, 1966, for the purpose of deciding the proposed propositon "Should the Village of Mount Prospect Incorporate As a City Under the General Law- Illinois Municipal Code; Chapter 24, Illinois Revised Statutes?"; and WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees have canvassed the votes cast on said referendum and are ready to report: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE: That said referendum was duly held on September 13, 1966, as provided by law. SECTION TWO: That 7731 Votes were cast on the proposition "Should the Village of Mount Prospect Incorporate as a City Under the General Law - Illinois Municipal Code; Chapter 24, Illinois Revised Statutes?", in the following manner: YES 2144 NO "5564 23 Defective ballots were cast and not counted. SECTION THREE: That inasmuch as "NO" received the highest number of votes, the propositL)n of "Should the Village of Mount Prospect Incorporate as a City Under the General Law - Illinois Municipal Code; Chapter 24, Illinois Revised Statutes?" failed. SECTION FOUR: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law. PASSED this 20th day cf September 1966. September 1966.
