I RFSOWrrON NO. 23-67
I A RESOLUI'ION IN SUPPORT OF HOUSE BILL 474 FOR THE IMPROVEMENT
OF WElLER CREEK DIRECTED 'IO THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS
l 'l'JHEREAS, the President and Board of 'l'rustees of the Village of Mount
I ospect are concerned with the upgrading of Weller Creek downstream and
'ithrough the Village of Mount Prospect to alleviate flooding conditions and
Iponditions creating noxious odors and nuisances; and

t WHEREAS, the Department of Public \-lorks and Buildings, Waterways
IDivision, of the State of Illinois, has prepared certain drawings for canpletion
IPf a five-stage program for the improvement of Weller Creek; and

Ii WHEREAS, Stage I has been completed in prior years; and
Ii
'II WHEREAS, House Bill 474 is for the appropriation of funds for the
C' mprovement of Stage II and Stage III including, among other things, the
I' ecessary runaround at the junction of Weller Creek and the Chicago and North
, estern Railroad right-of-way; and
Ii
:1 WHEREAS, the completion of Stage II and Stage III would greatly
::~lleviate the flooding conditions, noxious odors, and nuisances arising fran
i~Jeller Creek through and about the Village of ~ljount Prospect; and

'I, WHEREAS, both the House of Representatives and the Senate of the
i$tate of Illinois have passed and approved House Bill 474 and have forwarded
,It>ame to the Governor's Office for his signing into law said House Bill 474;

, NOW, THEREFDRE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND OOARD OF
IrRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, IILINOIS:

I, SECTION ONE: That having fully considered House Bill 474 for the
~mprovement of Weller Creek Stage II and Stage III now pending before the
iibovernor of the State of Illinois, this Board fully supports the passage into
I~aw of House Bill 474.

,I!i SECTION TWO:: That immediately upon passage and approval of this
:F" esolution, the Village Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect be and is
i. ereby authorized and directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the
vernor of the State of Illinois.
i I SECTION THREE: This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
itrom and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
