RESOLUTION NO.
28-67
A RESOLUTION IN OPPOSITION TO HOUSE BIIL NO. 1874
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Mount Prospect are aware of the contents of House Bill No. 1874 and the
proposed alteration in the existing act concerning public utilities; and
WHEREAS, said proposed amendment would enable a public utility
to take the position that their capital investment is of a greater magnitude
thus establishing a criterion for rate increases for their users; and
WHEREAS, wi thin the corporate limits of the Village of Mount
Prospect there exist two quasi-public utility cOOlpanies certificated to operate
within the corporate limits of the Village of Mount Prospect whose rate
structure is presently covered by the rules and regulations of the Illinois
Commerce Commission based of the existing laws; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect is a member of the North-
west Municipal Leauge, an organization of municipalities located in the north-
west portion of Cook County, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, at a general meeting held during the month of May, 1967
House Bill No. 1874 was discussed in full detail so as to enlighten the
various municipalities; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Mount Prospect believe it to be in the best interests of its residents to
formally voice its objection to the adoption and passage of House Bill No.1874;
NCU, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That having fully considered House Bill No. 1874
for the amendment of an act concerning public utili ties now pending before
the Illinois legislature, this Board formally voices its objection to the
passage into law of House Bill No. 1874
SECTION '!WO: That immediately upon passage and approval of this
Resolution, the Village Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect be and is
hereby authorized and directed to transmit copies of this Resolution to the
respective representatives of the Third District; to the Senator representing
the Third District; to the Speaker of the House; and to the Lieutenant
Governor.
SECTION THREE: This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
fran and after its passage and approval in the manner prescribed by law.
