VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT,
Cook County, Ill.
An Ordinance
PROVIDING FOR THE REGULATION OF DRAM SHOPS AND THE
LICiBSIBG THEREDF WITHIN THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT,
COUNTY OF COOK AND STATE OF ILLINOIS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE President and Board of Truste~
of the Village of Mount Prospect:-
SECTION 1. - The Board of Trustees may, subject to
the laws of the United States ahd of the State of IllinOis,
authorize any person or persons to sell or give away for
profit or gain any intoxicating malt, vinous, mixed or
fermented liquors of any name or nature, in any quantity
whatever, upon the procurement of a license therefor,
to be signed by the President and attested by the Vn"LAGE
CLERK under the seal of the Village, upon payment to the
Village treasury of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) per
annum, and such license when issued shall authorize the
selling and giving away of such liquor during any portion
of the fiscal year in which the same has been issued,
S&C~ION NO.2 - Any person or persons desiring any
such license ahall file with the Village Clerk an app1i-
\ cation in writing, setting forth the location of the
building to be occupied, together with a bond duly executed
and signed by at least two sureties, having real estate
i~ the County of Cook and State of Illinois, and the
Village Council shall grant or rejoct any such application
and direct by resolution in case of approval the issuance
of the license so sought during the term of the fiscal
year in which the same is issued, and the amount of money
charged for such license shall be paid to the Village
Treasurer thereof, as ordered and directed by said Board
of Trustees,
SECTION NO. ) - No such license shall be issued
until the applicant for the sar:1e slall first have filed
with the Village Clerk a Yond in the penal sum of tltree
thousand dollars (:!;},OOO.OO) payable to the people {)f'
the State'of Illinois, approved as aforesaid and condi-
tioned that the applicant will pay to, all persons all
damages that may be sustained through any. person or pro-
perty by means of suppo~t by reason of such applicant
selling or giving away intoxicating liquors.
SECTION 4- Any person or persons to whom any such
license may have been issued may, with the permission of
the Village Council, assign and transfer the same to any
other person or persons, and the assignee therof may
with the permission of said council surrender such license
and have a new license issued for the unexpired term of
the old license, authorizing the a3signee to carryon the
same business or occupation at the place, as heretofore

permitted in said license, provided however, that in
all cases each applicant for a new lieense shall provide

a bond for like sum and condition as that upon which the
surrended license was issued.

SECTION NO.5 - Any lioense granted under this ordinance
may be revoked by the Village Council,
whenever it shall appear to their satisfaction that the
party so licensed has violated any provision of any or-
dinance of the Village of Mount Prospect relating to the
intoxicating liquors or any condition of the bond herein-
before provided, and in case of any revocation no part
of the license fee need be returned,
SECTION 6, -That no one within the limits of this
Village shall sell, give away or in any
manner deal in intoxicating liquors in any quantity
whatever, excert the duly licensed dram shop keepers.
SECTION 7, - Any persons violating the provisions of
Section 6 of this ordinance shall upon
conviction be fined not less than Ten Dollars
($10.00) nor more than Two Hundr~d Dollars U~200.00)
fer each offense.
SECTION 6,- That the keepers or owners of all dram shops
within this Village ~hall keep their place
of business closed between the hours of 11 o'clock P.M. ani
6 o'clock A. M. of each day in the year.

SECTION 9,- Any person who shall violateany of the
provisions of Section 8 of this ordinance
shall be fined on conviction in a sum not exceeding Ten
Dollars ($10.00) for the first offense and not exceeding
One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for eacq offense thereafter.
SECTION 10 - This ormnance shall take effect and be in
force immediately after its passage and pub-
lication as provided by law therefor.
