Home My WebLink AboutOrd 5 06/05/1917 014 Ordinance No, 5. AN ORDINANCE DEFINING MISDEMEANORS AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUNISHMENT THEREOF. SECTION 1. Be it ordained by the President and Board of trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, that each of the following sections shall be deemed to state a misdemeanor or misdemeanors, which if severally or jointly oommitted, by any person or persons or corporation, within the corporate limits of this Village, shall subject the of"fend- er or offenders severally, to a penalty of not less than three dollars ($).00) nor moretl-:an two hundred dollars ($200.00), except where some other penalty is herein provided; and provided, that a.ny act or ommission forbidden by tfuis ordinance shall be deemed a misdemeanor, but where mor~han one offense is stated in a section, the offender thereof shall be liable to only one penalty_ SECTION 2. No person s~all commit an assault or assault and battery_ SECTION 3. No person shall provoke a breach of the peace, or shall use any violent, threatening, prOfane or indecent language, to the disturbance of any person, or shall use any threatening, reproaChing or abusive language to or concerning any person, tending to provoke a breach of the peace. SECTION 4. No person shall be drunk nor shall be in a state of intoxication in any street, avenue or public place, or 1n any private house or place to the disturbance of any person. SECTION 5. No person shall be guilty of disorder- ly conduet, or shall make, aid, countenance br assist in making any improper noise, riot, disturbanoe or breach of the peace. SECTION 6. No person shall be guilty of open lewdness, disorderly conduct, or act of public indeoency tending to debauch the public morals. SECTION 7. No person shall f'ire or discharge any canon, gun, fowling piece, pistol or firearms of' any kind or dlscription, or fire, explode or set off any crac~ers or anything containing powder or other explosive 9ubstances in this Village in such manner or at such times as to dis- turb, frighten any of the residents thereof, or so as to frighten any horse or injure any personal property. SECTION 8. SECTION 40~ No person ahall sell, offer to sell, lor to dispose of any impure, unwhOlesome, adulterated or di- luted milk, QT any other unwholesome food. '\ , (' SECTION 41. No person shall sell any impure ice, or any ice whfch shall contain filth or any other impure substances, or thing, which, when mixed with water, will render the water.impure or the water unhealthful. SECTION 42. No person shall sell or' offfr for sale any putrid or unwholesome beef, pork, !Ilutton, or the flesh of any other animal or fowl that has died from any injury or disease, o"has been killed on account of any disease. SECTION 43. No person on his own account or as' agent~r anyone else or any corporation, shall in any manner out, trim, or 'mutilate any trees or shrubs standing or being "'- on any private property, without the prior consent of the owner ot such property, and shall not cut, trim or mutilate any tree or shrub growing or being upon any public street, alley or place, without first having obtained consent of the owner of the abutting property, and also the consent in . writing of the committee~on Streets and Sidewalks of this Village, under penalty of not less than ten dollars <tlO.OO)/ 'and not morethan two hundred dollars <.200.00) for each ~ offense.
