An Ordinanoe to amend ~ ordinance entitled all ordinanoe to re-
gulate the use of Motor Vehicles and Motor bicycles within the Vill-
age and to prOVide penalties for the infraction thereof.
Be it ordained by the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Mount Prospect, Oook County, Illinois:
Section:...l- That seotion 7 of an ordinance entitled aD ordinanoe
to regulate the use of Motor Vehioles and Motor bioycles within the
Village and to provide penalties for the infraotion thereof, re.d-
ing therein as fOlloWB, "Ho person shall operate, nor shall the
owner of any automobile, motor vehicle or Motor bicycl., permit to
be operated on the streets, alleys, highways or other publiC places
in this Village any automobile ,motor vehicle or motor bioycle whioh
has not a muffler in a proper and effioient working condition; and
it shall futher be unlawful for any person to operate for the owner
of any automobile, Motor vehiole, or Motor bicycle on the streets,
.alleys, highways, or other public places in this Village, with the
muffler out out or noj in operation. Any person violating any of the
provisions of this seotion, shall upon oonviction, be fined in a
sum of not less than five (5) dollars nor more than fifty (50) dollars
for eaoh offenoe.", be and the same is hereby amended to read as
follows, "Ho person shall operate , nor shall the owner of any aut-
omobile,.Motor Vehiole or Motor bioyole, permit to be operated on
the streets, alleys, highways or other public plaoes in this Village
any automobile, Motor vehicle or Motor bioyole whioh has not a
muffler in a proper and effioient working oondition, and it shall
futher be unlawful: for any person to operate any automobile, Motor
vehicle or Motor Bioyole on the streets, alleys, highways, or other
puglia plaoes in this village, with the muffler out out or not in
operation. lmy person violating any of the provisions of this ae,otion
shall, upon oonviotion, be fined in a sum of not less than ten (10)
nor more than fifty (50) dollars for eaoh offenoe.1t
3eotion;-2- This Ordinance shall be in full foroe and effeat
from and after its passage, approval and publioation.
