Be it ordained by the President and Board of trustees of
the Village of Mount Prospeot:

Gentlemen:
We hereby submit an ordinanoe for oonstruotin~ and
laying a connected system of water main extensions, inoludin~
v~lves, valve boxes, orosses, tees, hydrants, hydrant oonnections,
speoial oastings and fittin~s and all necessary appurtenances, to
be oonstructed a.nd lai d in the Villa&('e of M:ount Prospeot as follows:
A cast iron water main of ten (10) inohes internal
diameter along a line parallel with and twenty (20) feet southerly
of the northerly street line of Ever~reen Avenue from and oon-
neoting with the easterly terminus of the existin~ twelve (12)
inoh water main in Evergreen Avenue at a point twenty (20) feet
westerly of the easterly street line of Louis street, extendea,
to a line parallel with and twenty (20) feet westerly from the
easterly street line of Edward street, with a suitabls oast iron
reduoer, twelve (12) inohes by ten (10) inohes, plaoed at the
westerly terminus of said main hereinbefore provided to be laid,
and a suitable ten (10) inoh by six (6) inoh oross plaoea at the
e.sterly terminus of said main.
A cast iron water main of six (6) inohes internal
diameter alon~ a line parallel with and twenty (20) feet northerly
of the southerly street line of Central Road from and connecting
with the easterly terminus of the existing six (6) inoh water main
in Central Road at a point twenty (20) feet westerly of the easter~
ly street line of Louis Street extended, to a line parallel with and
twenty (20) feet westerly of the easterly street line of Edward
Street extended, with a suitable six (6) inoh cast iron oross
placed at the easterly terminus of said main herein prOVided to
be laid in said Central street.
A cast iron water main of six (6) inohes internal
diameter along a line parallel with and twenty (20) feet westerly
of the easterly street line of Edward Street from and connecting
with the easterly terminus of said proposed water main in Central
Read, to a point of thirteen bundred seventy (1370) feet soutber-
ly of the soutberly street line of Evergreen Avenue and connecting
with the main hereinbefore specified to be constructed in Ever-
green Avenue, ~rtth suitable cast iron tees of six (6) inches
internal d~ameter placed in said main respeotively at t~e fOllOWing
points:
One at a point three hundred (300) feet southerly of
the southerly street line of Evergreen Avenue;
One at a point one thousand (1000) feet southerly from
the southerly street Ii.. of Evergre.n Avenue;
With a suitable six (6) inoh by ei~ht (8) inoh cross
p1aoe. in said 'main at a point twenty (20) feet southerly of the
northerly street line of Busse Avenue, with the eight (8) inoh
'ends pointing east and west: and with a sui table six (6) inoh
one-eighth (1/8) bend and a six (6) inch b;T eight (8) inch
reduoer placed at the southerly terminus of said main, herein
provided to be laid in said Edward Street.
A cast iron water main of six (6) inohes internal
liameter along a line parallel with and twenty (20) feet westerly
of the easterly street line of Louis Street from and oonneotiR~
with the existing water main in Evergreen Avenue by means of the
reducer hereinafter specified, to a line parallel with and twenty
(20) feet southerly from the northerly street line of Prospeot
Avenue; with a suitable six (6) inch by twelve (12) inch reduoer
p1aoea at the northerly terminus, and a suitable cast iron sir
(6) inoh by eight (8) inch reducer plaoed at the southerly terminus
of said main herein provided to be laid in said Louis street;
with two ~uitable cast iron six (6) inoh tees plaoed in said pipe
respectively at points three hundred (300) feet and nine Hundred
fifty (950) feet southerly of the southerly street line of Ever-
green Avenue.
A cast iron water main of eight (8) inohes internal
diameter from and oonnecting with the southerly terminus of said
main herein specified to be laid in Louis street along a line
parallel with and twenty (20) feet southerly of the northerly
street line of Prospect Avenue, to the westerly street line ex-
tended of Edward Street, thence along a straiv.ht line to and
oonnectin~ with the southerly terminus of the main hereinbefore
speoified "'to be laid in Edward Street; wi th sui table eight (8)
inch case iron crosses plaoed one at the westerly terminus of
said pipe, one at the westerly street line extended of Edward
street and one at the northeasterry terminus of said pipe;
All in the Village of Mount Prospeot, Oounty of Cook
and State of Illinois, and as described in detail in a resolution
adopts! by this Board on the 4th day of Deoember, A. D. 1923; to-
gether with an estimate of the President of the Board of tooa1
Improvements of the cost of said proposed improvement, inoluding
all labor, material and other lawful expenses attendin<< the same,
together \qith a sum not exceedin~ 81x per.oent (6~) of the eost
to be applied toward the oost of making and colleotin~ the
assessment therefor, and such other oosts as is by law proTided,
ani recommend the passage of said ordinanoe and the making of
the improvement oontemplated therein.

Gentlemen:
The Board of Local Improvements of said Villa~e
having adopted a resolution providin~ for the construction
and laying of a connected sy~tem of water main extensions,
includin~ valves, val~e boxes, crosses, tees, fire hydrant.,
hydrant conneotions, special castin~8 and fittin~s and all
necessary appurtenances, to be constructed and laid as follow8,
te-wi t:
A oast iron water main of ten (10) inches internal
~i.meter along a line parallel ~th and twenty (20) f..t southerly
of, the northerly street line of Evergreen Avenue trom and con-
nectin~ with the easterly terminus of the existin~ twelve (12)
inch water main in Evergreen Avenue at a point twenty (20) feet
westerly of the easterly street line of Louis street extendea,
to a line parallel with and twenty (20) feet westerly from the
easterly street line of Edward Street, with a suitabl. east iron
reducer, twelve (12) inohes by ten (10) inohes, placed at the
westerly terminus of said main hereinbefore provided to be laid,
and a suitable ten (10) inoh by six (6) inob cross plaoed at the
easterly terminus of said main.
A oast iron water main of six (6) inohes internal
diameter along a line parallel 'Ivi th and twenty (20) feet nortberly
of th~ southerly street line of Central Road from and oonnectin~
with the easterly terminus of the existin~ six (6) inoh water main
in Central Road at a point twenty (20) feet westerly of the easterly
street line of Louis Street extended, to a line parallel with and
twenty (20) feet westerly of the easterly street line of Edward
street extended, with a suitable six (6) inoh oast iron cross
plaoed at the easterly terminus of said main herein provided to be
laid in 8aid Central street.

diameter alon~ a line parallel '"ith and twenty (20) feet westerly
of the easterly street line of Edward Street from and oonneotin~
wi th the easterly terminus of said proposed 11'18.ter main- in Central
Road, to a point thirteen hundred seventy (1370) feet soutnerly of
the southerly street line of Everp:reen Avenue and oonneotln~ wit'h
the main hereinbefore speoified to be oonstructea in Everp:reen
Avenue, with suitable oast iron tees of six (6) inches internal
diameter placed in said main respectivel~ at tne followinR points:
One at a point three hundred (300) feet southerly of
the southerly street line of Ever~reen AveRue;
One at a point one thousand (10001 feet southerly from
the southerly street line of ~vergreen Avenue;
With a suitable six (6) inch by eight (8) inch cross
placed in said main at a point twenty (20) feet southerly of the
northerly street line of Busse Avenue, with the ei~ht (8) inch
ends pointing east and west; a'nd with a suitable six (6) inch
one-eighth (1/8) bend and a six (6) inch by ei~ht (8) inch
reducer placed at the southerly terminus of said main, herein
provided to be laid in said Edward Street.
A cast iron water main of six (6) inches internal
diameter along a line parallel with and twenty (20) feet westerly
of the easterly street line of Louis Street from and conne.tln~
with the existing water main in Evergreen Avenue by means of the.
reduoer hereinafter specified, to a line parallel with and twenty
(20) feet southerly from the northerly street line of Prospeot
Avenue; with a suitable six (6) inch by twelve (12) inch redu.er
placed at the northerly terminus, and a suitable cast iron lix
(6) inch by eight (8) inch reducer placed at the southerly terminus
of said main herein provided to be laid in said Louis street; with
two suitable cast iron six (6) inch tees placed in said pipe
respeotively at points three hundred (300) feet and nine hundred
fifty (960) feet southerly of the southerly street line of Ever-
green Avenue.
A cast iron water main of ei~ht (8) inches internal
diameter from and connectinR with the southerly terminus of said
main herein specified to be laid in Louis 3treet alon~ a line
parallel with and twenty (20) feet southerly of tre northerly
street line of Prospect Avenue, to t~e westerly street line ex-
tended of Edward street, thence along a straight line to and
conneoting with the southerly terminus of the main hereinbefore
sp.ecified to be laid in Edward Street; with suitable eight (8)
inch cast iron crosses placed one at the westerly terminus of
said pipe, one at the westerly street line extended of Edward
street and one at the northeasterly terminus of said pipe;
All in the Village of Mount Prospect, County of Cook and
state of Illinois, and having presented. to said President and
Board of Trustees a recommendation that such looal improvement
be made;
I herewith submit an estimate of the cost of suoh 100al
improvement, including all labor, material, engineerinu expense and
other lawful expenses attending the same, and also includin~ a
sum not exoeeding six per oent (6%) of the cost to be applied
toward the cost of making and cOlleoting the aS6essment therefor,
as is by law provided, viz:

joints of standard dimensions and weighing not
less than 63.8 pounds per lineal foot, the joints
made by inserting a hemp gasket and flllin~ the
oaulking spaoe 'nth pure molten lead, properly
oaulked, said mains to be laid with the top surfaoe
six (6) feet below the surfaoe of the ~round where
laid, laid in plaoe, including all excavations and
haokfilling and all neoessary speoial castings and
fittings at ~3.~0 per lineal foot..................$1320.00
570 lineal feet of cast iron water main of eigh~ (8)
inohes internal diameter with bell and spigot
joints of standard dimensions and weighing not
less than 47.5 pounds per lineal foot, the joints
mado by inserting a hemp gasket and filling the
caulking space with pure molten lead, properly
oaulked, said mains to be laid with the top surfaoe
thereof six (6) feet belo'v the surfaoe of the ~round
where laid, laid complete in plaoe, includin~ all
exoavations and backfilling and all neoessary special
castings and fittings, at $2.80 per lineal foot....t1596.00
4626 lineal feet of oast iron water main of six (6) inches
internal diameter, with bell and spigot joints of
standard dimensions and weighing not less than 33.3
pounds per lineal foot, the jOints mede by insertin~ a
hemp gasket and filling the caulking spaoe with pure
molten lead, properly caulked, said mains to be laid
with the top surface thereof six (6) feet below the
surface of the ground where laid, oomplete in place,
inoludin~ all excavations and backfillin~ and all
necessary special castin~s and fittings at ~2.20 per

date water main valv~ set in place in the ten (10)
inoh water main with adjustable cast iron valve box
extending to the surfaoe of the ground, all oomplete

gate water main valve set in p1aoe in the eight (8)
inch water main, with adjustable cast iron box extend-
ing to the surfaoe of the ground, all complete in

gate water main valves set in plaoe in the six (6)
inch water main, with adjustable cast iron valve
boxes, extending to the surtace of the ground, all

fire hydrants with five (5) inch valve openin~, and
two (2) two and one-balf (2~) inch hose conneotions
and one (1) four (4) inch steamer conneotion, and a
six (6) foot stand pipe, said hudrants to extend from
tbe water main connection six (6) feet below tbe ground
to . pOint sufficiently above the ground to place the
bese nozzles eighteen (18) inohes above the surface
ef the ground, each hydrant to be conneoted to the
water main by a line of six (6) inches internal
diameter cast iron water main, weighing 33.3 pound.
