MINUTES
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION
Executive Conference Room, Village Hall
Thursday, April 16, 2009
8:00 a.m.
The meeting of the Economic Development Commission (EDC) of the Village of Mount Prospect was
held on Thursday, February 19, 2009 in the third floor Executive Conference Room in the Village Hall,
50 South Emerson Street, Mount Prospect, Illinois.
CALL TO ORDER
Chairman David Lindgren called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m. Commissioners Ken Fritz, Tom
Lowe, and Ben Trapani were present. Commissioner Skip Robertson was absent. Also present were
Bill Cooney, Director of Community Development; Brian Simmons, Deputy Director of Community
Development; Clare O'Shea, Senior Planner; and Maura EI Metennani, Public Information Officer.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of the February 19, 2009 meeting were reviewed and approved unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS
Development Update
Mr. Cooney provided an overview of the status of several developments throughout the village.
NEW BUSINESS
Harper College Unemployment Assistance Programs
Mr. Cooney introduced Sheila Bailey from Harper College. Ms Bailey provided an overview of job loss
programs that Harper College currently offers to its' constituents. She stated that they have seen a
large increase in requests for assistance and have tailored their programs to reflect those requests.
She encouraged the commission to have affected Mount Prospect businesses and residents contact
Harper to utilize their services.

David Lindgren introduced Jennifer Stasch, Executive Director of the Workforce Board of Northern
Cook County. Ms. Stasch stated that her organization works in conjunction with Harper College in
providing job counseling and training programs for individuals. She indicated that they have seen a
large increase in demand for their services as the economy has worsened and also encouraged the
commission to advise the community of their available services.
CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
Chairman Lindgren indicated that he had no new information to share.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 a.m.
