Mayor Wilks opened the meeting with general remarks and then had everyone in attendance do
self introductions.
Ken Koeppen, Linneman Rd. - Mr. Koeppen wanted to let Public Works know there are two
utility trenches on the curve of Linneman Rd. that have settled and need repair. Mr. Andler said
he would follow up with the contractor to repair the trenches.
Mal Holec, Quince Ln. - Mr. Holec wanted to thank the Village Board for all their efforts and
asked if more information about the Village's Community Connections Center could be
distributed to all Mount Prospect residents. Mayor Wilks gave a brief overview of The Center
and agreed to get more information out to our residents as more details of The Center are
finalized.
Carol Tortorello, S. Elmhurst Ave. - Ms. Tortorello requested an update on the Triangle
Development. Mr. Janonis stated that the development is still on hold and until the development
resumes there are plans to add additional parking and landscaping on the empty lots.
Steve Vanarsdale, S. Can Dota. - Mr. Vanarsdale wanted to thank Public Works for all their
help in coming up with a solution to his rear yard flooding problem. Mr. Andler informed Mr.
Vanarsdale that Public Works is finalizing the plans and specifications for this year's rear yard
drainage program and a contract should be awarded by late May. Plans will include constructing
rain gardens and drain tile system to remove ponding water from resident's rear yard and Mr.
Vanarsdale yard is on this year's list.
Thomas Tezky, N. School- Mr. Tezky is concerned about a very large dog at 22. S. Maple that
tries to jump over the fence every time he walks by on the sidewalk. Mr. Tezky also requested
help in filling out paperwork for the State of Illinois to get his drivers license reinstated. Mr.
Janonis told Mr. Tezky to contact the Village's Human Services department on the second floor
ofthe Village Hall and they would help him.
Erich Wohlgemuth, S. Wille; Bruce Nejdl, MacArthur; Jason Malinowski, Eastwood; Paul
Wood, N. Maple - Mr. Nejdl came to Coffee with Council to present the first Lego League
Team from Lincoln Jr. High. Team members include: Adam Malinowski, Jeff Nejdl, Matt
Gibbons, Matt Wohlgemuth and Eric Wood. Mr. Nejdl wanted the Village Board to know
this Lego Team placed 2nd in the State and will be representing Mount Prospect and the State of
Illinois at the US Open Championship Competition in Dayton, Ohio. The Village Board
congratulated all the Lego Team members on their great accomplishment. The team also offered
to make a 5 minute presentation after the meeting on their Rain Garden Report. Mr. Nejdl also
asked about the delay for the Randhurst redevelopment. Mr. Janonis responded that currently
there is about a two month delay because of details with existing leases with some of the
remaining businesses. The developer Casto has the financing and they are still planning on
opening summer of2010.

Becky Kviz, S. Hatlen - Ms. Kviz is very concerned about construction going on at 101 S.
Hatlen (S.E. Corner of Grinde1 and Hatlen). This construction has been going on for over two
years. There is currently a large dumpster full to the top that has been there for months. Also,
the construction site is not completely secured by fencing and she is concerned about the safety
of the neighborhood children. Mr. Janonis will follow up on this issue with the Village's
Community Development Department. Ms. K viz also expressed her concerned about increased
traffic and speeding on Central Rd. Mr. Janonis will turn this over to the Village's Traffic Unit
for some selected enforcement.
Frank Fulton, Can Dota - Mr. Fulton is a neighbor of Mr. Vanarsdale and just came to
observe.
Jim Chylik, Locust - Mr. Chylik was disappointed that he did not receive information about all
the candidates prior to this years election. Mayor Wilks told Mr. Chylik it was the candidate's
responsibility to do that, not the Village's.
Aleza Moore, Pawnee Lane - Ms. Moore is a new homeowner in Mount Prospect and needs to
replace the roof on her home and other things. What does she need to do? Mr. Janonis told her to
put together a list of repairs she is planning and got to the Village's Community Development
Department and they will advise her on any required permits. Ms. Moore also asked if the
Village could assist her in getting her apartment deposit back from the landlord of the Mansions.
Mr. Janonis told her it was doubtful she will get it back but she should contact our Community
Development Department who can advise her on landlord/tenant issues. Ms. Moore is a
translator and interpreter and offered her services to the Village for the Community Connections
Center.
Brady Roscoe, Hemlock - Mr. Roscoe is long time resident and is concerned about the number
of homes in his neighborhood that have large amounts of junk stored all around the outsides of
them. People are also storing their recycling and garbage carts in front of their homes. Mayor
Wilks asked Mr. Roscoe to provide staff with a list of addresses and we will follow up on any
property maintenance issues.
David Schein, Na Wa Ta - Mr. Schein supports the use of rain gardens and rain barrels and
suggests Public Works sell rain barrels at their Public Works Open House next month. Public
Works will contact Mr. Schein about contacts for purchasing rain barrels. Trustee Juracek also
suggested Public Works contact the Garden Club who has also indicated an interest in selling
rain barrels.
Christy Watychowicz - Mrs. Watychowicz suggested that the Village Board should consider
filling vacancies on the various Boards and Commissions with representatives from the younger
population (25-40 years old) of the Village. Does the Village publicize openings on these
Boards and Commissions prior to them being filled? Mayor Wilks responded that there is
information about the Village's Boards and Commissions on the Village's website.
