HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 257 05/07/1946 FMO*AGH j 5/7/46 li Ii ~>\ AN ORDINANCE providing for the sub- mission to the voters of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, of an ordinance providing for the issuance of $145,000 Municipal Building Bonds of said Village at a special election to be held in and for said Village on the lOth day of July, 1946. ***** WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the , Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County,Il1inois, did on the 7th day of May, 1946, adopt the following ordinance en- titled: "AN ORDINANCE providing for borrowing money and issuing Municipal Building Bonds of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, in the amount of $145,000, and providing for the collection of a direct annual tax for the payment of the principal and in- terest of said bonds;" and WHEREAS. before said ordinance will become effective the same must'be submitted to the legal voters of said Vil- lage and be approved by a majority of the voters voting . thereon at an election duly called and held for that purpose; NOW. THEREFORE~ Be it Ordained by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, as follows: Section 1. That a special election be and the same is hereby called to be held in and for said Village on the lOth day of July, 1946, between the hours of 6:00 o'clock A.M. and 5:00 o'clock P.M. (Central Daylight Savings Time) of said day, for the purpose of submitting to the voters of said Village the ordinance referred to in the preamble here- of, entitled: -2- "AN ORDINANCE providing for borrowing money and issuing Municipal Building Bonds of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, in the amount of $145,000, and providing for the collection of a direct annual tax tor the payment of the'principal and in- terest of said bonds," duly adopted by the President and Board of Trustees of said Village on the 7th day of May, 1946. Section 2. That for said special election the poll- ing place for the voters of said village shall be.as follows: Village Hall, 203 E. Evergreen Street. Section 3. That the Clerk of said Village is hereby directed to cause at least forty (40) days' notice of the submission of said ordinance at said election, to be given by publishing notice thereof at least forty (40) days before said election, in the Mount Prospect Herald, a newspaper pub- lished in and ._ of general circulation wi thin said Village, and by posting in at least five of the most public places and that said notice be in substantially the following form: NOTIC~ OF ~LlCTION NOTICE is hereby given that on the loth day of July, 1946, a special election will be held in and for the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, at --,- ,---I 0( -3- which election there will be submitted to the voters of said Village the following ordinance: "AN ORDINANCE providing for borrowing money and issuing Municipal Building Bonds of the Village of Mount Prospect, Coo~ County, Illinois, in the amount of $145,000, and providing for the collection of a direct annual tax for the payment of the principal and in- terest of said bonds." That for the purpose of said election, the polling place designated for said election is as follows: Village Hall, 203 E. Evergreen Street. The polls at said election will be open at 6:00 o'clock A.M., and will be closed at 5:00 o'clock P.M. (Central Daylight Savings Time) of said day. All per- sons qualified to vote at general Village elections are qualified to vote on said ordinance at said special election.
