Chairman Busse called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m.
Roll Call: George Busse, Chairman
Hank Friedrichs III, Commissioner

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A motion was made by Commissioner Skowron and seconded by Commissioner Friedrichs to accept the
minutes of the May 5, 2008, Open Meeting, with the line noting Commissioner Skowron's arrival at 6:14 p.m.

SELECT DATE FOR BOFPC ORIENTATION BY VILLAGE ATTORNEY & CHIEFS
Item IV on the agenda was addressed at this time due to the need to contact Mr. Hill to set the orientation date
convenient for both the BOFPC members and Mr. Hill. After a discussion to determine the availability of the
Board, Chief Dahlberg called Mr. Hill to confirm his availability. It was agreed they would meet on June 24th at
6:00 p.m.
SELECT DATE FOR ORAL INTERVIEW PROTOCOL & QUESTION DEVELOPMENT TRAINING (Mid-July)
The members of the Board agreed to July 14tn and July 21s1 as possible training dates. Chief Dahlberg will
contact Stanard & Associates to determine their availability. The Chief will confirm with the Board bye-mail
tomorrow. July 29th and 30th were selected for police oral interviews. Additional dates will be added if
necessary.
FIRE DEPARTMENT UPDATE
Chief Figolah requested an extension for the probationary period of a firefighter hired on June 6, 2007, to allow
him to complete paramedic school.
A motion was made by Commissioner Friedrichs and seconded by Commissioner Skowron to extend the
probation.

Chief Figolah also reported staff promotions and retirements.

POLICE DEPARTMENT UPDATE
The information for the Sergeants Test was released on Friday, May 30,2008. The written test is scheduled for
August 6th and the assessment center is scheduled for August 20th and 21st. This is the first test offered under
the new Board of Fire and Police Rules and Regulations. The police officer test is scheduled to commence on
June 22nd. A total of 532 applications have been received so far. The Chief also reported on three applicants
asking for accommodations. There was a brief discussion and Chief Dahlberg will seek a legal opinion from Mr.
Hill.
The Chief also reported on department promotions and retirements.
Chairman Busse asked for a motion to go into Closed Session under 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (1) of the Open Meetings
Act to approve minutes and discuss personnel.
A motion was made by Commissioner Friedrichs and seconded by Commissioner Skowron to go into closed
session at 6:50 p.m. to approve minutes and discuss personnel.

The Board reconvened at 7:04 p.m. with everyone present.
OTHER BUSINESS
Chief Dahlberg asked if any of the members of the Board were interested in obtaining business cards. No
members requested them. Chairman Busse asked if a date has been set for the recognition of former members
of the Board. Chief Dahlberg will notify the Board as soon as a date is confirmed. The Board discussed looking
for additional members to the Board.
The next meeting will be held on July 7, 2008, at 5:00 p.m.
The Board unanimously agreed to adjourn the meeting at 7:29 p.m.
