AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE
SUBMISSION TO THE VOTERS OF THE
VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK
COUNTY, ILLINOIS, THE PROPOSI~
TION OF ADOPTING A POLICE PENSION
FUND ON A SEPARATE BALLOT AT THE
REGULAR ELECTION TO BE HELD IN
AND FOR SAID VILLAGE ON THE 19th

WHEREAS. on March 1, 1949, there was filed with the
Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect, a petition, in words
and figures as follows:

TO THE HONORABLE PRESIDENT
AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES,
Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois.
We, the undersigned registered and legal vo-
ters of the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois,
hereby petition that the following questitbn be
submitted to the voters of the Village of Mount
Prospectl Illinois at the regular election to be
held on pril 19th, A.D. 1949:
Shall the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County,
Illinois adopt uAn Act to provide for the setting
apart, formation and disbursement of ~ Police
Pension Fund in Cities, Villages and Incorporated
Towns having a population of not more than 200,000
inhabitantsa approved June 14, 1909, as amended?

~S. the President and Board of Trustees have ex-
amined said petition and the 25 signatures appearing thereon
and from such examination determined that said petition is
signed by not less than 6% of the voters voting for President
of said Village at the last preceding general election, to-wit:
319 voters voting for President of said Village at the last
preceding election; and
WHEREAS. it is provided in paragraph 904 C of Chapter
24 of the Illinois Revised Statutes of 1947 that when a peti-
tion shall be so filed, that the proposition shall then be

submitted at the next succeeding general election in said vil-
lage.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND
BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY,
ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1. That at the regular election to be held in
and for the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois,
on the 19th day of April, 1949, between the hours of 6 OIClock
A.M. and 5 O!Clock P.M. (Central Standard Time of said date),
there shall be submitted to the voters of said Village,for their
approval, on a separate ballot, the proposition: "Shall the
Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, adopt 'An Act
to Provide for the setting apart, formation and disbursement of
a Police Pension Fund in Cities, Villages and Incorporated
Towns having a population of not more than- 200,000 Inhabitants?'"
SECTION 2. That the existing Precincts heretofore
established shall constitute the boundaries for this election
and the polling places heretofore established shall be the poll-
ing places at said election.
SECTION 3. That at said general election,~he Judges and
Clerks heretofore designated to conduct the general election of
officials on April 19, 1949, shall also act as Judges and Clerks
on the proposition submitted in this Ordinance.
SECTION 4. That the Village Clerk is hereby directed
to cause notice of said proposition at said general election to
be given by publishing notice thereof once in the Mount Prospect
Herald, the same being a newspaper published in said Village, the
date of such publication not more than 30 days nor less than
15 days prior to the date set for said election.

SEQTION 5. That the ballot on the proposition to be
used at said general election, shall be substantially in the
following form:

SECTION 6. That the Village Clerk shall cause a sample
ballot to be published once in the Mount Prospect Herald, the
same beLng a newspaper published in and having a general circu-
lation within the Village of Mount Prospect; the date of such
publication to be not less than five days prior to the date
set for such general election.
SECTION 7. That this Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect forthwith upon its passage and approval, according
to law.
