The Vlllage jail is hereby designated as the place of incarceration for offenders of Village Ordinances whenever a fine, penalty and costs assessed against an offender by the Police Mag1.strate or any Justlce of the .tieace are not fully paid. SECTION 2!,. That any person upon whom any fine or pen- . alty is i.mposed upon the order of a Court, Police Magl~trate or Justice of Peace. before whom t.h.e convictton is had for the violation of any Ordinance of t.he Vtllage of Mount Prospect, s11all be cornmttted to the Village Jail until the fine, penalty and costs are fully paid. E1iCTION~13. That every person ~o committed shall be re- quired to work at whatever labor bis strength permits, within and without the place of incarceration, not to exceed 10 hours each working day. The committed person shall be .allowed, ex- cl1J.s1.ve of his hoard, a credit of 50 cents for each day's work on account of the fine, penalty and costs, provided, however, no imprisop~ent shall exceed 6 months for anyone offense. SECTION 4~ The Chief of Police of the Village of Mount Prospect, shall receive into sald V:i.llage Jail any person who may be sentenced or committed thereto by the Court, Police Magis- trate or Justice of the Peace tn and for said VilJage of Mount Prospect. It shall be the duty of all members of the Police -2- force of the Village delivering any p~Tscn to the Village jail to deliver t.o the Ch:lef of Poli~e a m1.ttimus or execution by vtrtue of which said !le'!'~on was' conuni tted anri to return lmmed1- ately to the Village Treasurer a dupli.cate ther€of. SECTION 5. That thts Ordinance ~hall be tn full force .~ --'. and effect from and after its passage~ approval and pu.blication, according to law. PASSED: thi..~ 6th day of September, 1949.
